2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Founded in 1991, the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) is an international, not-for-profit organization, that helps communities around the world address environmental, economic and social challenges, to build a better future shaped and shared by all.

About the Project:

The Clean Air Accelerator project is designed to advance India’s National Clean Air Program (NCAP) goals of reducing PM 2.5 and PM 10 concentrations by 20-30% in key city regions. The project will support city officials in strengthening their City Action Plans by helping factories to engage with each other and the public sector. The project will demonstrate the wider social imperatives for, and benefits of, scaling industrial clean technologies to improve air quality and public health. The project will help factories achieve significant, meaningful and lasting reductions in harmful air pollution emissions that will benefit not just their workers and their bottom-lines, but surrounding communities and public health as well.

The activities of the project are designed to equip industry and public-sector leaders and technical service providers that support them both, with the skills and tools they need to scope, assess, strategize, and implement industrial clean technology solutions that offer systemic and lasting reductions in harmful air emissions.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Program Assistant shall be a part of a two-person team working on the Clean Air Accelerator Project, the Program Assistant will be responsible for the following:

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

(1) Research on industry & governance-related topics in the air pollution space;

(2) Produce well-researched documents and write long-form content on project activities and deliverables;

(3) Support the timely preparation and submission of progress reports, donor reports (quarterly and annual reports) and any other donor requested documents;

(4) Ensure brand consistency (style, fonts, structure);

(5) Promote content on social media via LinkedIn, blog posts etc;

(6) Travel to industries, municipal corporations as per project needs;

(7) Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders;

(8) Support in coordination with all stakeholders in the project;

(9) Assist in follow-up with industry partners and support in technical assistance;

(10) Support in designing and organizing workshops, trainings, webinars and other special events.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications:

Bachelors’ degree in engineering, environmental sciences, urban planning, economics, mathematics, statistics, etc.

Experience:

Freshers are welcome to apply, but a few years of relevant work experience will be an advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Proficiency in writing in English;

(2) Fluency in speaking of Marathi language is desirable;

(3) Highly motivated to learn new stuff;

(4) Hard working with ‘can do’ attitude.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation offered for the position is Rs. 4.2 lacs per annum. The actual offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
