1. POSITION VACANT: Accounts Executive, Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation, New Delhi


2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

 

Government of India (GOI) has initiated Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) as an independent organization under the Societies Registration Act to facilitate civil society action in partnership with State and Central Government, for transforming livelihoods and lives of rural households, with an emphasis on women, particularly in the Central Indian Tribal Region.

BRLF is a unique and first-of-its-kind initiative and the Foundation is constituted as a partnership between Government on the one hand and private sector philanthropies, public and private sector undertakings (under Corporate Social Responsibility) on the other. Major functions of BRLF is to provide financial grants to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to meet their human resource and institutional costs for up-scaling of proven interventions, invest in institutional strengthening of smaller CSOs and capacity building of professional human resources working at the grassroots.

The General Body and Executive Committee of BRLF are constituted by eminent individuals as well as ex-officio representatives from private philanthropies, public and private sector organizations, financial institutions, State Governments and GOI.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to Sr. Accounts Officer, BRLF, the Accounts Executive would be part of the Accounts team of BRLF in prudent management of financial and accounting systems.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

(A) Accounts and Finance:

(1) Verification of vendor invoices, Travel settlement, Petty expenses and other reimbursement as per policy;

(2) Process and release of vendor advance, staff travel advance and other regular payment;

(3) Follow up with staff/consultant for timely settlement of vendor and staff/consultant advances;

(4) Recording of transactions in account books (Tally ERP 9) as per budget head and generate vouchers;

(5) Ensure physical expenditure and payment vouchers are properly supported in accordance with relevant financial rules, regulations and procedures;

(6) Maintain hard and soft copy of records and files related to the finance and account’s function. Maintain a good filing system;

(7) Understanding of statutory compliances like TDS, GST and FCRA and process of statutory payments as per timelines and procedure;

(8) Process release of grant to various types of partners;

(9) Ensure timely receipt of bank statements on monthly basis from banks;

(10) Monthly Bank Reconciliation in Tally ERP 9;

(11) Support in the preparation of monthly and periodic financial reports;

(12) Support in internal audit, Statutory audit and for various types of donor audits;

(13) Be ready to take on other roles as well as back stop others in any other function as needed for the proper functioning of the BRLF office.

(B) Online Grant and Audit Modules on BRLF MIS:

(1) Familiarize and work with grant partners on grant reporting and processing and grantee audit through the Finance module of BRLF online MIS.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications:

Post Graduate degree in Finance/ Accounting or CA/ ICWA Inter.

Experience:

(1) Applicant must have minimum experience of 4-7 years in a similar position;

(2) Experience of working with Foundations, Grant making institution or Government created missions and societies;

(3) Well versed with financial and accounting software preferably online applications;

(4) Knowledge and experience with Government created societies would be desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Proficient in Microsoft Office specially Excel;

(2) Well versed with statuary compliances i.e., TDS, PF, Income Tax, FCRA etc;

(3) Excellent inter-personal skills;

(4) Can work independently and with teams;

(5) Knowledge and experience of GoI accounting requirements, handing prudent procurement procedures would be desirable;

(6) A team player, with the ability works in a collaborative and consultative manner. 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

The gross remuneration budgeted for the position is Rs. 5.5-6 lacs per annum. Offers shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience, and salary history, of the selected candidate.

6. LOCATION: The position will be based at New Delhi.

7. APPOINTMENT: This is a full-time position and the initial contract will be offered for a period of three years.
