3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Programme Manager- Training, Safety and Quality will manage Smile Train’s efforts to ensure and enhance the safety and quality of care provided to cleft patients around the world and to implement and grow education and training programs in India, in line with the organization’s strategic goals. This will include oversight of education and training initiatives focused on cleft surgery and Smile Train’s safety and quality processes.

The incumbent shall be responsible for developing strategies around education and training, as well as safety and quality, support program employees to ensure internal continuity of Smile Train policies, maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure all partner programs comply with Smile Train required standards.

The incumbent will also help develop and iterate communications tools and materials for new and existing programs. The goal of these materials shall be to bolster the visibility of Smile Train’s programs activities around the globe.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Education & Training (E&T)
(1) Develop strategic plans for the implementation of E&T programs throughout the region, in collaboration with the Senior Vice President and Regional Director, Asia and Director, Global Education and Training;

(2) Manage E&T Coordinators and oversee their work on the following;

(a) Organization and development of Smile Train training materials;

(b) Review of E&T grants;

(c) E&T events being implemented regionally;

(d) Scaling of impactful E&T programs.

(3) Provide support to CRMs in planning and rolling out Smile Train-led training;

(4) Seek out and manage E&T partnerships with training institutions in all cleft care disciplines;

(5) Manage Smile Train’s scholarship program in the region; Receive applications, vet candidates and maintain constant communication to monitor and report progress;

(6) Plan, coordinate, and follow-through regional short-term, hands-on training workshops for surgeons;

(7) Design and implement impact and outcome evaluations for all E&T programs and courses in the region;

(8) Plan and organize Smile Train’s annual cleft congress;

(9) Coordinate exchange programs with Smile Train’s Cleft Leadership Centers and other global partners;

(10) Oversee the grant application and reporting processes for E&T grants.

Safety Audit and Quality Assurance

(1) Oversee Smile Train’s Safety & Quality (S&Q) Processes and the involvement of Regional Medical Advisory Council in these processes, as appropriate;

(a) Quality Assurance (QA) Review Process;

(b) Sentinel Event (SE) Review Process;

(c) Safety Audit Process (following reported SEs, preventative audits, prospective partner audits);

(d) Self-Certification Audit (SCA) Process (administered in STX annually);

(e) Review and approval of new partners in Salesforce platform.

(2) Lead the development of projects originating from Indian Medical Advisory Council (IMAC) safety and quality mandates such as the development of new advisories, resources such as the medical record templates, and strategic partnerships;

(3) Oversight and management of Palate Outcome Projects (Fistula Mapping); Monitoring and evaluation of data and communications with regional teams;

(4) Develop and implement programs onboarding materials for new hires, both in the US and in the field;

(5) Manage and provide support, as needed, to the Senior Associate- Programs, whose responsibilities include management of the Smile Train Express Patient Database System and related projects and processes; Provide ongoing mentorship and development of this individual.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications:
(1) Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, such as medicine, nursing, medical education, business, law, global health, etc.;

(2) Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, shall be an added advantage.

Experience:
(1) Over five years of relevant experience; Experience in implementing medical education programs in India, is strongly preferred;
(2) Experience with conference planning;

(3) Existing working relationship with training institutions in the region, will be an added advantage;

(4) Knowledge or experience in global health or global surgery, is preferred;

(5) International experience or working with global not-for-profit organisations, is preferred.


Essential Skills and Competencies:
(1) Excellent writing and reporting skills, proofreading and copyediting skills with demonstrated ability to write quickly and well under deadlines;

(2) Project and time management skills with high attention to detail;

(3) Experience as a people manager;
(4) Outgoing and engaging personality.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.

6. LOCATION: New Delhi.

 

(Note: The incumbent shall be based at New Delhi and expected to work from home until December 1, 2021. The post-holder shall work from the Smile Train India Office in New Delhi, thereafter.)
