2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Headquartered at Seattle, WA-USA, SightLife, with South Asia Regional Headquarters in New Delhi-India, is the only non-profit global health organization, focused solely on eliminating corneal blindness.
Working with governments, hospitals, eye care providers and community health workers in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, SightLife and its partners have restored sight or prevented blindness for more than 200,000 men, women, and children each day. This is accomplished through four signature programs: advocacy, prevention, clinical training, and eye banking, ensuring patients have access to quality care.
SightLife’s mission is to eliminate corneal blindness globally, taking a health systems approach to prevent and treat those who suffer from corneal blindness, 90% of whom live in low- and middle-income countries.
With strategic partners across Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, SightLife is expanding access to the full range of corneal health services that patients need.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications and working closely with the Vice President of Mission Advancement, Vice President of Asia and Ethiopia, and other senior program staff, the Communications Manager (CM) shall be responsible for planning, developing, and executing, external and internal communications activities of the organization.
S/he will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website content, and public relations messages, as well as develop collaterals for external audiences, including fact sheets, success stories, blog posts, publications, annual fund letters, impact reports, and award submissions, ensuring that these are consistently aligned with the organization’s mission.
The CM shall also lead/ support media, vendor, and partner relations, among other duties and activities.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
(1) Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, contractors, and vendors, to clarify and strengthen the narrative, content funnel, and visibility of SightLife as a leader and key partner in global public health and eye health systems strengthening, internationally;
(2) Provide support for the development and execution of strategic content and other communications activities, that help achieve the top tier goals and objectives of SightLife;
(3) Ensure consistent and innovative communications support to organizational strategy as well as activities that elevate the brand's image;
(4) Build strong relationships with key audiences and use influence and storytelling skills to energize and align internal and external stakeholders to grow the organization’s impact and brand reputation;
(5) Develop and refresh key collateral and other content assets and tools (from fact sheets to presentations) in collaboration with Program Leads, to effectively capture SightLife’s work and impact;
(6) Oversee the development and execution of strategic media relations, including the development of media briefs and training that support the effective engagement of SightLife subject matter experts internationally;
(7) Create, plan, and implement content streams on the organization’s different global social media pages to garner likes, impressions, engagement, and donations, in collaboration with the Director- Marketing & Communications; Liaise with international program staff to ensure project deliverables are executed in a timely, high-quality, and cost-effective manner;
(8) Actively leverage and maintain project management tools, client/ customer satisfaction tracking mechanisms, and the content activation calendar, to fuel effectiveness and operational excellence;
(9) Provide complete media and social media, branding, and design support, for key milestone events of SightLife;
(10) Manage communications contractors and other vendors, as appropriate;
(11) Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
(1) Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related area;
(2) Applicants with a master’s degree in marketing, communications, media, journalism, business administration, and/or management, shall be preferred.
Experience:
(1) At least five years of experience in managing the communications, marketing, social media, and public relations activities, of a high-growth organization;
(2) Experience of working in multi-cultural environments and building successful cross-functional/ departmental partnerships, to drive results;
(3) Experience of developing and executing strategies to reach specialized audiences with targeted messages across a mix of earned and owned media/ communications channels;
(4) Prior experience in the development/ health sector, shall be preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Proven oral and written communication skills to build and execute content strategy;
(2) A strong record of interacting effectively and diplomatically with customers/ clients, partners, and other stakeholders, including news reporters, to achieve communications goals and objectives;
(3) Ability to represent the organization’s thought leadership and programmatic impact through effective and compelling storytelling to mobilize philanthropic giving;
(4) Previous virtual and in-person event activation experience (from event logistics to script and show curation);
(5) Detail-oriented with an ability to set clear priorities alongside keen analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills, that drive decision making and projects to completion;
(6) Prior experience and competency in Microsoft Office’s essential applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), apart from SharePoint, Teams, Zoom, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and Adobe Suite, will be a plus;
(7) Familiarity with project management software and digital content tools and platforms such as Animoto, Act-On, and WordPress, shall be preferred;
(8) Strong written and spoken English language proficiency;
(9) Previous experience in philanthropy, public health, and heath care content communications is preferred;
(10) A personal commitment to organ, tissue and eye donation is required;
(11) Flexibility to work during off-hours, nights, and weekends, when needed.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is Rs. 12-14 lacs per annum. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
