1. POSITION(S) VACANT: Manager, Knowledge Management, IIMPACT, Gurugram

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Established in 2003, IIMPACT is an initiative of alumni of the batch of 1978, from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, providing primary education across India, to young girls from socially and economically disadvantaged communities, with no access to schooling.

The vision and mission of IIMPACT is to transform the lives of women, families and entire communities in India by the education and empowerment of the girl child, by mobilizing and motivating non-school going girls, between the ages of 6 and 14, from economically and socially backward rural areas and providing them high-quality, relevant education at IIMPACT Learning Centres.

IIMPACT has helped +50,000 girls in 1,500 villages in 11 states of India, to date. Of these over 26,000 girls have completed primary education at IIMPACT Learning Centres and joined mainstream, government-run, upper primary and secondary education institutions. Over the years, IIMPACT has developed a clear strategy and a proven delivery model, both in terms of social outcomes, as well as scalability.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Head- Resource Centre, the Manager- Knowledge Management (MKM) shall be responsible for coordinating all knowledge management activities across the organisation, by the creation and dissemination of knowledge products such as studies, surveys, researches, etc.

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Support IIMPACT in documentation of good practices, case studies and pilots across geographies and program areas;

(2) Work closely with relevant HQ and Field teams, NGO partners and other Civil Society players, to curate knowledge of educational interventions;
(3) Assist in conceptualizing a knowledge management system at the organisational level to ensure sustained knowledge exchange and continuous learning and adaptation amongst teams;

(4) Develop publications, reports and other knowledge products, for wider dissemination through different online and offline platforms;
(5) Coordinate with teams across states to facilitate exchange of good practices amongst implementors;
(6) Develop formats, questionnaires, study designs, undertake sampling as needed and roll out studies in the field;
(7) Represent the organisation in the absence of/ alongwith the Executive Director, at various external forums.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification
Applicants must have a post-graduate degree in Education, Anthropology, Social Policy Research and Analysis, or related field.


Experience
(1) Minimum five years of professional work experience in knowledge management, strategic communication, research, advocacy, or related field, preferably in education.


Skills and Competencies
(1) Demonstrated experience of creating strong knowledge management systems and producing high quality knowledge products;
(2) Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi;
(3) Good understanding of data collection, collation and interpretation;  
(4) Good knowledge and working ability on various data analysis tools such as SPSS;
(5) Proficiency in social research techniques, including observational data collection in the field, in-person interviews, FGDs, literature reviews, etc.;
(6) Understanding of legal and ethical issues and principles, relating to participatory action research;
(7) Excellent analytical skills and ability to document research analysis;
(8) Knowledge of the social reality (with special reference to education), of tribal and dalit communities/ girls;
(9) Ability to travel eight working days in a month in the field across IIMPACT intervention areas.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
