1. POSITION(S) VACANT: Manager- Pedagogy and Assessment, IIMPACT, Gurugram

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Established in 2003, IIMPACT is an initiative of alumni of the batch of 1978, from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, providing primary education across India, to young girls from socially and economically disadvantaged communities, with no access to schooling.

The vision and mission of IIMPACT is to transform the lives of women, families, and entire communities in India by the education and empowerment of the girl child, by mobilizing and motivating non-school going girls, between the ages of 6 and 14, from economically and socially backward rural areas and providing them high-quality, relevant education at IIMPACT Learning Centres.

IIMPACT has helped +50,000 girls in 1,500 villages in 11 states of India, to date. Of these over 26,000 girls have completed primary education at IIMPACT Learning Centres and joined mainstream, government-run, upper primary and secondary education institutions. Over the years, IIMPACT has developed a clear strategy and a proven delivery model, both in terms of social outcomes, as well as scalability.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

IIMPACT wishes to hire a high-energy, result-oriented development professional, with a strong interest in the roll out and assessment of educational programs and proven competency in the area.

Reporting to the Head of Professional Development, the Manager- Pedagogy and Assessment shall be responsible for providing support in IIMPACT’s educational programs.

Key Job Responsibilities:


A. Training and Content Creation-
(1) Develop relevant content focusing on assessment integrated learning pedagogy and formative assessment for IIMPACTs Girl Child Education Programme (GCEP);
(2) Undertake and participate in training of academic staff, Master Trainers and teachers towards enhancement of their capacities on various pedagogic approaches (Focus on Multi Grade Multi Level (MGML) Methodology) and assessment tools and techniques.

B. Assessments-
(a)
Roll out and implementation of Teacher assessments (TA) in the field-
(1) Manage and assist in TA assessments at Learning Centres;
(2) Assist in rolling out the Pre-test & post-test in Teacher Training (TT);
(3) Standardize the Pre-test and post -test papers;
(4) Train and equip field staff with appropriate apparatus to carry-out assessments in required manner. Improve the assessment taking capability of IIMPACT field staff and PNGO staff;
(5) Verify and analyse the TA data obtained from field and input to MIS;
(6) Coordinate the periodic external assessments for teachers and children engaging with expert organizations.

(b) Responsible for roll out and implementation of Child assessments in the field-
(1) Assist in the periodic roll out of ASER study for children assessment;
(2) Develop the assessments plan periodic and regular and Supervise their roll out in LCs across geographies;
(3) Conduct random Child assessments;
(4) Standardize Child Assessment papers.


(c) Analysis and interpretation of Assessment Data-
(1) Lead Learning Assessment processes of children across states;
(2) Develop insightful assessment reports basis assessment for the organisation to understand learning challenges and take corrective measures.


4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:


Qualification
Applicants must have a Master’s in Social Development, Educational Pedagogy & Assessment, or related field.


Experience
Applicant must have more than five years of progressive experience in training, pedagogy and assessment preferably in the education sector in social development sphere.


Skills and Competencies
(1) Good knowledge of approaches , systems and processes in training teachers and academic staff including tech enabled learning;
(2) Understanding of the deployment of Eco- system of LMS in educating teachers’ from marginalized backgrounds;
(3) Understanding of innovative pedagogies more specifically pedagogy of early reading & writing that enhances learning outcomes among children of marginalized communities including pedagogical planning;
(4) Good hand in formative assessment tools and techniques including assessment integrated  lesson plan modules;
(5) Knowledge of government policies in primary education including thorough understanding of RTE and NCF, NEP etc.


5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
