2ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Government of India (GOI) initiated Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) as an independent organization under the Societies Registration Act, to facilitate civil society action in partnership with the Central and State Governments, for transforming livelihoods and lives of rural households, with an emphasis on women, particularly in the Central Indian Tribal Region.

BRLF is a unique and first-of-its-kind initiative and the Foundation is constituted as a partnership between Government on the one hand and private sector philanthropies, public and private sector undertakings (under Corporate Social Responsibility), on the other. Major functions of BRLF comprise the provision of financial grants to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to meet their human resource and institutional costs for up-scaling proven interventions, invest in institutional strengthening of smaller CSOs and capacity building of professional human resources working at the grassroots. The General Body and Executive Committee of BRLF are constituted by eminent individuals, as well as ex-officio representatives from private philanthropies, public and private sector organizations, financial institutions, State Governments and GOI.

ABOUT PROJECT

High Impact Mega-Watershed Project, Chhattisgarh

This project was formally launched on October 5, 2018 between Mahatma Gandhi NREGA Cell, Department of Panchayat and Rural Development, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation and Axis Bank Foundation. It is estimated that a total of one lakh families would be benefitted through land and water treatment measures in 7.29 lakhs hectares of catchments area in 28 blocks of 13 districts (Sarguja, Surajpur, Raigarh, Korba, Koriya, Dhamtari, Balrampur, Kanker, Narayanpur, Sukma, Bastar, Dantewada and Kawardha) in Chhattisgarh state.

The project aims to build capacities of front-line functionaries, PRIs, community members and CSOs on ridge to valley principles of watershed implementation

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Cluster Coordinator, the Social Mobilizers/ Community Resource Person (SM-CRP) shall be responsible for the following;

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Engage with the local community to create awareness on MGNREGA;
(2) Facilitate active participation of the local community and build their ownership in the programme at all stages such as planning, implementation and monitoring of work;
(3) Mobilize women, asset less and landless households to claim their right to employment and work towards creation of durable assets. Towards this, the Social Mobilizer would work to strengthen community interface with the duty bearers of the Gram Panchayat;

(4) Play active roles in conducting training, exposure visits for the grass root stakeholders and to help the villagers to plan for sustainable livelihood interventions;
(5) Set up systems and processes to enable the community maintain physical structures created under the initiative.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: 

Qualification and Experience:

Graduate in any discipline with minimum one to two years of work experience in social mobilization;
Or
Matriculate with minimum five years’ work experience in social mobilization and natural resource management with rural community at the grassroots level;
Or
Non-matriculate Community Resource Persons trained and guided by reputed NGO/ Institution and have more than five years of work experience on SHG and natural resource management may also apply;

Should be motivated to work in the villages specially with deprived sections and willing to acquire new knowledge and skills relevant to the project and guide implementation processes;

Essential Skills and Competencies:
(1) Fluency to communicate in local language;
(2) Ability to work in a multi-cultural/ multi-disciplinary team;
(3) Ability to multi-task and work well in such a team;
(4) Willing to travel;

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The remuneration package budgeted for the position is between 5000/- to 7500/- per month. Offers shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and salary history, of the selected candidate.

8. APPOINTMENT: This is a contractual engagement for a period of six months. The engagement may be renewed/ extended, based on the performance and/or requirement of the organization.
