2ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Government of India
 (GOI) initiated Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) as an independent organization under the Societies Registration Act, to facilitate civil society action in partnership with the Central and State Governments, for transforming livelihoods and lives of rural households, with an emphasis on women, particularly in the Central Indian Tribal Region.

BRLF is a unique and first-of-its-kind initiative and the Foundation is constituted as a partnership between Government on the one hand and private sector philanthropies, public and private sector undertakings (under Corporate Social Responsibility), on the other. Major functions of BRLF comprise the provision of financial grants to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to meet their human resource and institutional costs for up-scaling proven interventions, invest in institutional strengthening of smaller CSOs and capacity building of professional human resources working at the grassroots. The General Body and Executive Committee of BRLF are constituted by eminent individuals, as well as ex-officio representatives from private philanthropies, public and private sector organizations, financial institutions, State Governments and GOI.

ABOUT PROJECT

High Impact Mega-Watershed Project, Chhattisgarh

This project was formally launched on October 5, 2018 between Mahatma Gandhi NREGA Cell, Department of Panchayat and Rural Development, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation and Axis Bank Foundation. It is estimated that a total of one lakh families would be benefitted through land and water treatment measures in 7.29 lakhs hectares of catchments area in 28 blocks of 13 districts (Sarguja, Surajpur, Raigarh, Korba, Koriya, Dhamtari, Balrampur, Kanker, Narayanpur, Sukma, Bastar, Dantewada and Kawardha) in Chhattisgarh state.

The project aims to build capacities of front-line functionaries, PRIs, community members and CSOs on ridge to valley principles of watershed implementation.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Team Leader (TL) shall be responsible for the following;

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Lead the block team and provide adequate leadership, supervision, day to day management and support system to the team members;
(2) Capacity building of stakeholders;
(3) Build perspective on watershed concepts and principles, measures to improve hydrology and livelihoods of local communities;
(4) Facilitate participatory processes in planning, implementation and monitoring of works;
(5) Support duty bearers of Panchayats and the community in the finalization of the DPRs;
(6) Facilitate Gram Sabhas and Panchayats to ratify and adopt the DPR; Support panchayats to improve management of MGNREGS in the identified blocks;
(7) Establish healthy working relationships with all relevant stakeholders, govt. agencies, PRIs and rural communities;
(8) Support rural community to make plans for livelihood enhancement, post MGNREGA;
(9) Ensure compliance with Systems and Processes; Timely progress reporting;

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: 

Qualification:

Applicants must have a Graduate in Engineering/ Agriculture Or allied Fields and/or Post Graduate in Science/ Humanities from reputed institutions.

Experience:
(1) Minimum two to three years of experience in relevant field would be preferable along with ability to engage with farmers and community collectives;
(2) Collaborate with relevant stakeholders/ agencies to improve coordination and programme delivery on the ground;

Essential Skills and Competencies:
(1) Good communication skills in English and Hindi along with computing skills;
(2) Ability to work in a multi-cultural/ multi-disciplinary team;
(3) Ability to multi-task and work well in such a team;
(4) Willing to travel;

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED: 
The remuneration package budgeted for the position is between INR 31,500 to 47,500 per month. Offers shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and salary history, of the selected candidate.

7. LOCATION (s): Intensive Block Headquarters of Chhattisgarh, Bodla [1]; Bakawand [1]; Dantewada [1] and Sukma [1]

8. APPOINTMENT: This is a contractual engagement for a period of six months. The engagement may be renewed/ extended, based on the performance and/or requirement of the organization.
