2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Lords Education and Health Society (LEHS), is an Indian, not-for-profit organization, working on improving the quality of, and access to primary healthcare services for under-served communities across India. LEHS was registered in India under the Societies Registration Act, in 2003. The organization is also registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010.

Wadhwani Initiative for Sustainable Healthcare (WISH) is the flagship program of LEHS, and was established with a generous grant from Mr. Sunil Wadhwani and his family.

WISH is implementing healthcare models through partnerships with state governments, international agencies and the private sector, by introducing promising and appropriate healthcare innovations in the public health system, to build an equitable, innovation-led and evidence-based, quality healthcare system, within easy reach of underserved populations.

LEHS|WISH strives to provide a quality compliant, fully operational healthcare delivery system, using innovation and technology.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Senior Program Director and working in close partnership with different national and state-based program teams, as well as other, cross-functional teams at LEHS| WISH, the Director Learning & Impact (DLI) shall be an effective leader, with the ability to implement structured practices and systems for capturing relevant data, for strengthening the programmatic value proposition of LEHS|WISH, at the state and national levels.

S/he shall be required to work independently and exercise sound judgement in the overall functioning of LEHS|WISH’s Learning & Impact (L&I) initiatives.

The DLI shall also be responsible for establishing a culture of respect, trust, collaboration, learning, innovation, urgency and passion for quality results, within team members and their working. S/he will exemplify the Mission, Vision and cultural values of LEHS|WISH through her/ his actions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
(1) Envisage and develop a robust L&I framework and introduce relevant tools in alignment with organizational requirements based on its Vision and Mission, as well as defined sector standards, and funding priorities;

(2) Lead the development and application of an appropriate MLE matrix for all funded programs, in alignment with the framework and approved proposals and budgets;
(3) Identify and share learning insights, feedback and suggestions, for improving MIS and data implementation, with concerned L&I and program teams;
(4) Manage quality and timely data collection, reporting and review, ensuring data verification as a core deliverable of the L&I system;
(5) Identify and develop relationships with key partners (Government, academic and/or research institutes, donors, UN agencies, and other development organizations), for establishing strategic relations and ensuring improved visibility of the organization;
(6) Lead and support the dissemination of findings of surveys in coordination with National/ State Offices, government partners and other stakeholders, as relevant;
(7) Provide strategic direction to ensure that the organization delivers on all internal L&I Monitoring & Evaluation requirements in ongoing programmes, in a timely manner and with high quality, accurate information, including reporting to the Governing Board;
(8) Oversee the development and implementation of the Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP) to capture project performance and results, including routine service delivery data reporting, baseline and end-line assessments, and all monitoring for process and outcome evaluations;
(9) Oversee and/or conduct targeted evaluations and operations research, including design, data collection, management and analysis;
(10) Plan and present tools for IRB approvals, ensuring the protection of participant data and confidentiality during the IRB process and implementation of concerned studies;
(11) Ensure the production of high-quality analytical reports to illustrate LEHS|WISH’s impact and assessment findings, including evidence of good practices and replicable programmes and their communication, at appropriate events;
(12) Lead the development of a National Dashboard and Knowledge Management Portal, at LEHS|WISH;
(13) Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual reviews of the L&I framework and processes to ensure these are relevant, pragmatic and aligned to the organizational Annual Action Plan;
(14) Provide accurate donor reports and dashboards to the CEO, Sr Program Director, and Program/ State Heads on progress, challenges and suggestions for improving L&I processes;
(15) Communicate top level learning/ analysis reports and monitoring data to ensure that management is able to make informed decisions on a timely basis, to scale up and face operational challenges, as well as external reporting and representational needs;
(16) Represent LEHS|WISH in appropriate forums and participate and contribute to key discussions forums for positioning its work;
(17) Guide direct reportees in the L&I Unit through performance management, coaching, mentoring, and training and development;
(18) Carry out any other task that may be assigned, as per the needs and requirements of the organization.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: 

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Masters’ or Ph.D. in Statistics, or Demography, or Public Health, along with a specialization in analytics and related subjects;

Experience:

(1) 15 years of progressive experience in leadership roles in L&I, or related function, leading multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
(2) Sound understanding of the Indian Public Health System and government data sets;
(3) Proficient in the use of statistical software (SPSS, Epi-Info, R, Stata, Atlas, etc.);
(4) Prior experience in the health sector shall be preferred.

(8) People Management: Demonstrated leadership capacity to build and lead technology teams; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide necessary direction to teams with focus on skill building, overall staff development, enhanced performance and engagement levels; Emotionally intelligent, perceptive and demonstrates inclusiveness and diversity;
(9) Willingness and ability to travel extensively.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
