3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Programme Manager will manage Smile Train’s efforts to ensure and enhance the safety and quality of care provided to cleft patients around the world and to implement and grow education and training programs in India, in line with the organization’s strategic goals. This will include oversight of education and training and capacity building initiatives focused on comprehensive cleft treatment and Smile Train’s safety and quality processes.
The incumbent shall be responsible for developing strategies around education and training, as well as quality, support program employees to ensure internal continuity of Smile Train policies, maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure all partner programs comply with Smile Train required standards.
The incumbent will also help develop and iterate training and communications tools and materials for new and existing programs. The goal of these materials shall be to bolster the visibility of Smile Train’s programs activities around the globe.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
(A) Training and Capacity Building (T& CB):
(1) Develop strategic plans for the implementation of T& CB programs throughout the region, in collaboration with the Senior Vice President and Regional Director, Asia and Director, Global Education and Training;
(2) Manage T& CB Coordinators and oversee their work on the following;
(a) Organization and development of Smile Train training materials;
(b) Review of T& CB funding and Oversee the funding application and reporting processes for T& CB funding;
(c) T& CB events being implemented regionally;
(d) Scaling of impactful T& CB programs.
(3) Seek out and manage T& CB partnerships with training institutions in all cleft care disciplines;
(4) Manage Smile Train’s scholarship program in the region; Receive applications, vet candidates and maintain constant communication to monitor and report progress;
(5) Plan, coordinate, and follow-through regional short-term, hands-on training workshops for surgeons;
(6) Plan and organize Smile Train’s annual cleft congress;
(7) Coordinate exchange programs with Smile Train’s Cleft Leadership Centers and other global partners;
(B) Monitoring and Impact Evaluation
(1) Design and implement Impact assessment analysis of the training programs and capacity building initiatives;
(2) Lead monitoring and impact evaluation internally or collaborate with external agencies, analyse findings from such evaluations and use learnings to inform programme design;
(3) Evaluate performance of all core programmes through tools defined in the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework;
(4) Tracking all key performance metrics and organizing periodic reviews and site visits; Ensuring communication with partners and performing all required Smile Train’s project management functions related to these partnerships;
(5) Produce periodic reports of the evaluation for internal use;
(C) Quality Assurance
(1) Oversee Smile Train’s Safety & Quality (S&Q) Processes and the involvement of Regional Medical Advisory Council in these processes, as appropriate.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
(1) Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, such as global health, medicine, nursing, medical education, business, law, etc.;
(2) Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, shall be an added advantage.
Experience:
(1) Over three years of relevant experience, preferably in the non-profit /development sector;
(2) Existing working relationship with training institutions in the region, will be an added advantage;
(3) Knowledge or experience in global health or global surgery, is preferred;
(4) International experience or working with global not-for-profit organisations, is preferred.

(10) Experience in organizing special events both national and global.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
