3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Government Partnerships, India, the Project Manager- Government Partnerships (PM) shall be responsible for planning, overseeing, and scaling up WASH ecosystem projects across multiple states from their ideation to completion, as a part of the Government Engagement team. This is a senior role in the organization and requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project phases simultaneously. The incumbent will be working closely with team members to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track. Responsibilities shall include submitting project deliverables, preparing status reports, and establishing effective project communication plans as well as the proper execution of project plans. S/he shall be a key contributor to government advocacy & engagement, donor support and global learning initiatives.

This will be an individual contributor role with no subordinates.

Key Responsibilities:

(A) Partnership & Business Development (50%)

(1) Ensuring achievement of WASH loan targets across the intervention states;

(2) Managing relationships with all the government and UNICEF stakeholders at the state level;

(3) Leading a team of State Ecosystem project consultants to manage day to day work and project execution;

(4) Prepare needed documentation for the execution and management of new and existing state ecosystem projects

(B) Portfolio Management (35%)

(1) Managing and expanding the existing portfolio of social enterprises;

(2) Coordinating and planning trainings, program monitoring visits, and other events as necessary on the field;

(3) Ensuring field data is reported and uploaded on time;

(4) Ensuring the MIS system is updated with all the mandatory requirements;

(5) Drafting and supporting the teams on donor reports;

(6) Managing and forecasting program budgets and burn rates

(C) Organizational Support (15%)

(1) Coordinating with colleagues from the South Asia and US team on projects and assignments as needed;

(2) Participate in assisting with the development of new tools and processes, membership on cross-functional committees as requested, and/or participation at internal or external conferences or workshops;

(3) Assist in the development of new tools, processes and/or procedures to gain efficiencies in the execution of work;

(4) Availability to take calls outside normal working hours to coordinate with US-based staff or staff at other country offices.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:        

 

Qualifications:

Applicant must possess Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or a closely related field AND;
Master’s degree in business administration or Social Work from a reputed institution;
Project Management certification holders will be preferred.


Experience:

(1) Minimum seven years (post Master’s) or nine years (post Bachelor’s) of professional experience in project management/program management, government liaising, or a related field with demonstrated knowledge of conceptualizing, executing, and managing multiple government projects;
(2) Knowledge and demonstrated experience with MS Office package software applications and report writing skills;
(3) Prior professional experience in planning, prioritizing, and managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting varying deadlines successfully;
(4) Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to multi-geographical stakeholders.
(5) Willing to undertake up to 40% of domestic travel. Travel will commence as is advisable given business needs and safety considerations as determined by organizational guidelines.

The gross remuneration budgeted for the position is attractive. Offer shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and salary history, of the selected candidate.
