1. POSITION(S) VACANT: Head - Human Resources and Learning & Development, CanKids…KidsCan, New Delhi

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

CanKids…KidsCan (CanKids), is a highly respected, national, non-profit, with operations in 22 States and 53 cities across India, ushering in pioneering care and cure models with agility and innovation, and deploying digital solutions for the purpose. The organization is dedicated to effecting change and improvement on all aspects of treatment, care and support services, for children with cancer and their families in India.


CanKids has successfully implemented its Access2Care model for Change for Childhood Cancer in India, targeting global survival rates of 70-95% and high quality of life for child cancer patients, families and survivors. The Access2Care model delivers holistic support to families of children with cancer under its signature YANA – You Are Not Alone program, delivered through CanKids Hospital Support Units (CHSUs) and CanKids Care Centers (CCCs), at hospitals where children are being treated for cancer.

CanKids has to date supported over 53,000 families of children with cancer under the Access2Care program. CanKids presently has a team of over 2,400 persons, including full-time professionals, honorary members, energized survivors and committed volunteers from diverse backgrounds, working across India. CanKids and its partners in India and globally, receive support for their programmes and initiatives from leading corporate and public sector organizations, bilateral agencies, HNIs, and family trusts, amongst others.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the CEO, the Head - Human Resources and Learning and Development (HHRLD) shall be responsible for leading human resources planning, and management and the learning and development functions across the organization.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

(1) Align HR strategy to CanKids mission and vision and provide leadership support to the HR, and Learning and Development functions;

(2) Design overall framework, process flows and policies for the HR and Learning and Development functions;
(3) Design and implement HR strategy for employees and volunteers, including parents and survivor members;
(4) Lead talent acquisition and management, induction, discipline, grievance, counselling, staff contracts, policies and statutory compliances;
(5) Lead and manage the PMS (Performance Management System), including Balance Score Card/ KPIs/ OKR;
(6) Develop and implement comprehensive, competitive and cost-effective compensation and benefits plans;
(7) Develop and implement OD strategies, including reward and recognition systems;
(8) Conceptualize innovative and flexible methods to address the developmental and capacity building needs identified, including identification of external training programs and conferences, design and delivery of in-house training sessions, enrolment in online learning programs, mentoring, self-learning, and other methods, as appropriate;
(9) Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, employee welfare services and counselling; Manage grievance system and disciplinary proceedings;
(10) Ensure smooth implementation of HR related MIS and Record Management systems, automated payroll systems and HR Division’s budget;
(11) Any reasonable linked/ related work that may be assigned/ expected.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification:
Applicants must have a post-graduate Degree/ MBA, in HR, or L&D, or related field.


Experience:
(1) Applicants must have a minimum of 12+ years of experience in nurturing talent and human capital in growth-oriented organizations, of which at least four years must be in leadership roles.


Skills and Competencies:

(1) Professional, fair and empathetic person;
(2) Ability to function as both a team player and team leader, while driving results;
(3) Constructive and progressive orientation towards nurturing and strengthening the right culture;
(4) Fair degree of understanding and practice of PMS and L&D models & tools;
(5) Excellent interpersonal, written communication and conflict resolution skills;
(6) Comfortable with volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA), work environments;
(7) Good command over oral and written communication skills both in English and Hindi;
(8) Willingness to travel (about 20% of time);
(9) Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
(10) Computer proficiency suiting the job-requirement.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is Rs. 12 to 15 lacs per annum. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
