1. POSITION(S) VACANT: Chief Finance Officer, CanKids…KidsCan, New Delhi

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

CanKids…KidsCan (CanKids), is a highly respected, national, non-profit, with operations in 22 States and 53 cities across India, ushering in pioneering care and cure models with agility and innovation, and deploying digital solutions for the purpose. The organization is dedicated to effecting change and improvement on all aspects of treatment, care and support services, for children with cancer and their families in India.


CanKids has successfully implemented its Access2Care model for Change for Childhood Cancer in India, targeting global survival rates of 70-95% and high quality of life for child cancer patients, families and survivors. The Access2Care model delivers holistic support to families of children with cancer under its signature YANA – You Are Not Alone program, delivered through CanKids Hospital Support Units (CHSUs) and CanKids Care Centers (CCCs), at hospitals where children are being treated for cancer.

CanKids has to date supported over 53,000 families of children with cancer under the Access2Care program. CanKids presently has a team of over 2,400 persons, including full-time professionals, honorary members, energized survivors and committed volunteers from diverse backgrounds, working across India. CanKids and its partners in India and globally, receive support for their programmes and initiatives from leading corporate and public sector organizations, bilateral agencies, HNIs, and family trusts, amongst others.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) shall work closely with the Finance Committee, playing a key role in strategic financial planning and control, and direct responsibility and accountability for managing all financial operations of the organization.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned finance professional, with demonstrated experience of leading the finance and accounts function, to steer and help achieve CanKidsKidsCan’s ambitious plans, goals and targets, and serve as a key 'growth and change' leader.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
(1) Manage financial operations including managing/ overseeing, finance, accounting, treasury, financial planning, budgeting and reporting, payroll, tax and other regulatory filings, insurance and audit;
(2) Improve and manage the business planning process, determining financial needs, initiating and preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, preparing monthly actual vs. budget reports and requisite business analysis, based on activities and programs;
(3) Ensure compliance of all internal and external regulations, including statutory and/or Government financial requirements and rules, FCRA provisions, taxation, and corporate and society filings;
(4) Ensure that records and systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards. Manage monthly, half-yearly and annual financial closing and reporting processes;
(5) Manage treasury and cash management operations, including monthly reporting, and liaising with internal stakeholders, banks and related authorities;
(6) Lead the statutory audit exercise and coordinate internal, concurrent and donor audits, in terms of completion, providing satisfactory explanations for the resolution of queries, observations and comments;
(7) Assist the Chairperson, Finance Committee, CEO and the Senior Management Team, in the proper governance of the Society, including the preparation and submission of information, analysis and reports to the Board of Governors;
(8) Other activities as generally expected in this role and position, including maintenance and compliance with financial policies, procedures and manuals, internal control and governance framework, enterprise risk management and financial delegation of powers.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification:
(1) Professional qualification in accounts, or

(2) Master’s degree, in Finance, Commerce, or equivalent;
(3) Qualified CAs with experience in the development sector, will be at an advantage.

Experience:
Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification work experience. Prior experience of working in public health or the not-for-profit sector will be preferred.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is Rs. 18 to 22 lacs per annum. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
