Jhpiego under its flagship health systems strengthening project NISHTHA (funded by USAID), is providing technical assistance to the central and 12 state governments, for strengthening the provision of comprehensive primary health care, by operationalizing health and wellness centres (HWCs). Jhpiego is hiring a Manger-Tuberculosis (MTB), based at New Delhi, for the USAID-funded NISHTHA project, to support intervention states in TB elimination activities. The post-holder shall provide high level technical assistance to intervention states, to strengthen TB elimination activities at HWCs, as well as the community.


Reporting to the Chief of Party, NISHTHA, the MTB will provide high level technical and managerial expertise to shape strategies and activities to strengthen comprehensive primary health care and integrate TB services within the HWC platform in intervention states.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
(1) Provide technical insights and expertise on TB to develop and shape strategies for providing comprehensive primary health care in NISHTHA states;

(2) Liaise with and support the government at the central and state levels, as necessary, to develop and execute strategies for integrating TB services within the HWC platform;
(3) Conceptualize and design activities/ strategies for TB elimination through Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) for vulnerable populations;
(4) Take the lead in identifying and nurturing innovative solutions for strengthening TB elimination through CPHC, considering advanced diagnostics, latent TB, case management, treatment adherence, contact tracing, Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) activities and other disease management strategies;
(5) Brainstorm and strategize interventions for TB and related co-morbid conditions, including COVID 19, through HWCs;
(6) Support the project team in the implementation of a collaborative framework for the management of TB in pregnant women;
(7) Take the lead in identifying and fostering partnerships with relevant organizations working in the area of TB elimination;|
(8) Liaise with central and state governments, implementing partners and the project team, to take forward the NISHTHA project agenda for integrating TB services within the HWC platform;
(9) Provide technical expertise for reviewing, and developing technical content for communication materials, job aids, resource materials and tools for the community, healthcare providers and front-line workers, on CPHC, and TB;
(10) Represent NISHTHA at various forums as the technical expert for TB, at the national and state levels;
(11) Monitor integration activities for TB services within the HWC platform in 12 NISHTHA states;
(12) Provide technical support for developing ‘lessons learnt’ documents for the NISHTHA project;
(13) Perform other activities, as assigned by the supervisor to achieve organizational goals.


(1) Applicants must have a Master’s in Public Health/ MD in Community Medicine/ PG Diploma in Health Management;

(2) Applicants with MBBS, BDS, BAMS, or BHMS, will be preferred.

(1) Applicants must have 7-10 years of experience of working with government counterparts and development partners, in a similar role;

(2) Prior experience of working with the National TB Elimination Program at the central and/or state level is essential;
(3) Familiarity with the Indian public health system, newer initiatives in the health sector and relevant government policies/ strategies, particularly under NHM, Ayushman Bharat Health & Wellness Centers, etc.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Thorough understanding of NTEP-2025 policies and strategies;
(2) Technical expertise on the TB disease spectrum;
(3) Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including national and state government counterparts, donors, development partners, field NGOs and civil society stakeholders;
(4) Familiarity with technology enabled interventions;
(5) Excellent written and oral communication skills, both in English and Hindi;
(6) Strong coordination skills;
(7) Attention to detail;
(8) Proficiency in computers, particularly Microsoft Office;
(9) Ability to work with a diverse technical team;
(10) Ability to multitask and work in a multicultural environment;
(11) Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines;
(12) Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of her/ his time.


Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
