2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Educate Girls (a project of 'Foundation to Educate Girls Globally’), is a non-profit organization that focuses on mobilizing communities for the education of girls, in India’s rural and educationally backward areas. Strongly aligned with ‘Right to Education Act’ or the ‘Samagra Shiksha,’ the organization is committed to the Government’s vision to improve access to primary education for children, especially young girls.

Educate Girls operates successfully, in 20,000+ villages in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. By leveraging the Government’s existing investment in schools and by engaging with a huge base of community volunteers, Educate Girls helps to identify, enrol and retain out-of-school girls and improve foundational skills in literacy and numeracy for all children (both girls and boys).

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:


Reporting to the Director-Purpose & Resource Mobilization, the Donor Relations Manager (DRM) shall be responsible for managing end-to-end relationships with Indian and international donors (International Foundations), ensuring appropriate communication, as well as adherence to reporting timelines, apart from overseeing the implementation of donor relationship management strategies.

S/he will also be responsible for developing and implementing engagement and fundraising strategies to enhance and grow revenue and current donors.

Primary Responsibilities:
(1) Develop, manage and implement a relationship management strategy in conjunction with Director PRM with primary focus on Institutional and Corporate Partnerships;

(2) Manage end-to-end relationships with donors including major donors, corporates, trusts and institutional funders;
(3) Develop partnerships and strategic engagements with International Foundations across geographies and sectors;
(4) Ensure timely renewals to meet organizational targets, strategize and implement fundraising strategies and build team and organizational capabilities;
(5) Develop letters of interest, grant applications, proposals, award applications, etc.;
(6) Lead and manage donor reporting;
(7) Liaise with concerned departments within EG to collate and present relevant information to stakeholders;
(8) Ensure regular communication and adherence to reporting timelines with existing donors;
(9) Ensure that grants/ funds are effectively managed and utilization reported in a timely and accurate manner.


Specific Responsibilities

A. Strategic Support

(1) Analyse, implement and monitor new growth potential by introducing new fundraising channels, upscaling existing activities, and introducing innovative activities for fundraising from donors;
(2) Proactively network and collaborate with a range of stakeholders with emphasis on institutional entities, partner NGOs, and communities, to synergize broader development efforts, build relevant partnerships, and enhance opportunities;
(3) Work closely with the Purpose & Resource Mobilization (PRM), Operations, Impact and Program teams within the organization, to improve the efficacy of outreach to donor entities.

B. Fundraising Support

(1) Develop a comprehensive renewals and donor management plan to ensure the identification, nurturing and management of potential and current donors;
(2) Work with the BD team to ensure a sustainable pipeline of donor support to manage existing programs and meet the growth and expansion needs of the organization;
(3) Lead and participate in activities to help improve fundraising strategy and outcomes, including:
(
a) Develop and present periodic updates on current and potential key accounts for review by the senior management team;
(b) Assess team capabilities in the context of donor requirements and identify training and process needs for review by senior management;
(c) Coordinate and participate in initiatives to build team and organization capabilities for improving engagement with donor entities;

(4) Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the PRM function, with emphasis on fundraising support, database management and reporting, event logistics and donor stewardship efforts.

(C) Outreach

(1) Provide support to the Director PRM in representation activities with donors at the domestic and international level;
(2) Reach out to donors (including donor renewals) and ensure adequate follow-up;
(3) Provide support in developing project proposals, concept notes, letters of interest, grant applications, award applications, etc.;
(4) Conceptualize, plan and execute fundraising events in collaboration with the internal EG team and external stakeholders (as required).

(D) Donor Management, Service & Retention

(1) Manage relationships with current and new donors (domestic and international);
(2) Monitor donor reporting needs on a continuing basis and ensure timely reporting and due diligence as per donor expectations;
(3) Liaise with different departments in the organization to collect and collate relevant information for donor reports;
(4) Manage updation of the internal donor management system and ensure that all current donor details are accurately recorded in the donor database;
(5) Deal with sensitive/ critical donor feedback to pre-empt issues and manage sensitive relationships;
(6) Ensure effective key account management to enhance donor retention and receive grant extensions.


5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a post-graduate degree, preferably in Marketing/ Business Development, or other relevant fields, from a reputed institution.  


Experience:
(1) Applicants must have a minimum of five to seven years of experience in managing institutional donor relationships, business development, writing proposals, and grant applications, preferably with reputed I/NGOs or International Foundations;

(2) Experience in writing proposals and reports for the specific purpose of fundraising.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Proven analytical skills and ability to think strategically in relation to fundraising;
(2) Demonstrated experience in networking, negotiation, and selling skills;
(3) Initiative in following-up as well as creating new relationships, to expand the existing network;
(4) Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
(5) Proven track record of achieving targets and experience of working with Indian and International Foundations (institutional donors);
(6) Good understanding of strategies and tactics for influencing decision and policy makers, prospective and existing donors, and other key actors;
(7) Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships, collaborate with individuals in a culturally diverse setting and build consensus;
(8) Ability to multitask and perform under stressful situations;
(9) Ability to treat people equally irrespective of gender;
(10) Integrity towards work and the ability to “know” and “do” what is right;

6. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
