About the Project:

iDEFEAT TB - Institutional Strengthening to Accelerate Actions for TB and Drug Resistant TB in India is USAID’s flagship TB project in India. The overall goal of the project is to strengthen TB-related institutions focusing on programmatic and clinical management of patients with TB and DR-TB, thereby contributing to achievement of India’s National Strategic Plan and targets set forth at the United Nations High-Level Meeting on TB. iDEFEAT TB will be implemented by The Union-led consortium of partners.
 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Reporting to Manager- Procurement, the Procurement Officer will be located at Delhi office and support the iDEFEAT TB project in Procurement and Administration, working closely with Project Director.

 

Key Tasks:

 

(1) Inventory management: set up and maintain an inventory of all fixed assets and rolling inventory of consumables;

(2) Management of procurement tracker from initiation of requirement till settlement of payment;

 

(3) Purchasing / procurement

(a)Identify vendors for supplies/ services, obtain quotes from vendors, prepare comparison of quotations, and assist in selection of vendors(s);

(b) Prepare purchase/ work order on approval of selection of vendor(s).

 

(4) Liaise with Service providers: stationery, daily office supplies, courier etc.;

(5) Develop systems for efficient quantification to avoid any mismatch between demand and supply and ensure availability at all levels;

(6) Support in development of guidelines on procurement and supply chain management of drugs and other commodities;

(7) Coordinate on procurement & supply chain activities.

(9) Maintain filing system for papers generated in an office;

(10) Set up appointments and meetings with vendors / service providers;

(11) Coordinate with colleagues in providing logistic support for all training programs organised through the Union South-East Asia office;

(12) Facilitating payment of vendors;

(13) Identify office space for field offices and provide necessary support in setting up;

(14) Regular monitoring of office maintenance.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications:

MBA/Post Graduate Diploma in related field or its equivalent.

 

Experience:

(1) At least 5 years of professional experience with at least 3 years in a similar role.

(2) Two years of experience in development sector is preferred.

 

Skills And Competencies:

(1) Excellent writing skills with a proven ability to write with clarity, strong interpersonal and communications skills;

(2) Self-motivated with the ability to set and achieve goals;

(3) Flexibility and willingness to work on a range of tasks;

(4) Ability to plan, prioritise and multitask under tight deadlines;

(5) Ability to learn quickly and flexibility to adapt to changing needs and urgent projects;

(6) Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.

(7) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is Rs. 10 lacs per annum. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.

6. DURATION OF CONTRACT: The incumbent shall be offered a two-year contract, extendable based on performance.
