1. POSITION VACANT: General Secretary and Head - Fundraising & Operations, CSR Trust for SDGs in India, New Delhi

 

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

CSR Trust for SDGs in India (CTSI) is an independent, charitable trust, established in 2019, with the objective of driving focus and attention of the Indian private sector, on the accomplishment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

Backed by technical support from multiple United Nations agencies across the country, CTSI proposes to use diverse approaches, including the pooling of funds from the Indian private sector and their utilization for specific SDG-aligned, outcome-driven, measurable and high impact development programmes.

Fostering close collaboration between the United Nations and the Indian private sector, CTSI works towards creating a win-win for both, allowing businesses and individuals to optimize their social spends in alignment with India’s priorities under the SDGs, while tracking and monitoring of CSR expenditure against the Goals. The approach shall help create a ripple effect and attract more purposeful and impact-driven social investments.

The United Nations Resident Coordinator (UNRC) and the United Nations Development Program Resident Representative (UNDP RR) are permanent invitees to all CTSI Board meetings, and contribute meaningfully to discussions and provide advice on the SDG framework.

Obtaining a highly positive response from the Indian private sector, including programme funding pledges in excess of Rs. 50 crores, CTSI would like to build on this momentum by enlarging its team, starting with the hiring of a full-time, Chief Operations.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Board, the Chief Operations shall be responsible for facilitating the development of growth strategies and business plans for the organization till 2030, and subsequently for their operationalization.

The position calls for a senior development professional with the representational capabilities and skills required to foster durable relationships with leaders of Indian industry and obtain their commitment to social cause and the programmes of UN Agencies in India. S/he shall be expected to manage a programme portfolio of about INR 50 crores within the next three years and discharge the functions discussed below.

A. Resource Mobilization & Communications

(1) Responsible for business development and resource mobilization for CTSI;
(2) Continuously locate and pursue new and innovative sources of revenue and incomes, building engagement and relationships with prospective partners;
(3) Manage the web presence of CTSI at all times, including the website and social media handles;
(4) Showcase relevant stories from existing projects, using appropriate communication channels to build visibility for the organization and its initiatives;
(5) Promote the interest of CTSI at all times;
(6) Demonstrate and enforce ethics and integrity across all operations.

B. Partnerships and Senior-Level Representation

(1) Liaise and foster durable partnerships with flagship Indian and multinational corporates and their leadership teams;
(2) Work in close collaboration with the leadership of different UN Agencies in India and their individual partnership teams;
(3) Build the profile of CTSI with corporates and other stakeholders through public speaking and presentations in seminars, workshops and events.

C. Financial Management 

(1) Prepare budgets and monitor expenditure and all financial transactions;
(2) Maintain proper records of grants, utilization certificates, etc., so that they may be presented from time to time, as required by the Board and/or existing and potential donors;
(3) Manage relationships with the outsourced accounting firm, and audit firm, and ensure the timely delivery of services as per agreed TORs and CTSI and donor requirements;
(4) Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements on all financial matters such as TDS, returns, etc.

D. Administrative Management

(1) Be fully responsible for the efficient running of CTSI;
(2) Discharge all day-to-day administrative functions;
(3) Maintain and keep all records of CTSI, including original MOUs, minutes of all meetings, and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements;
(4) Regularly apprise the President and the Board of CTSI and ensure that all stakeholders are kept updated on all important matters as well as emerging issues;
(5) Ensure implementation of all Board Resolutions and decisions of the Board;
(6) Ensure preparation of reports, returns, etc, and the maintenance of documentation as per donor requirements;
(7) Support UN Agencies and donors with proper documentation, ensuring compliance with all Indian laws and regulations.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification
Applicants must possess a Master’s in Management, Communications, Social Work, Development Studies, or related field.


Experience

Applicants must have 15 to 18 years of diverse experience, spanning partnership management, fundraising, communications, and governance, with a proven track record of success in leading teams, and successfully driving senior relationships with Indian industry.

Skills and Competencies
(1) Excellent representational skills at the leadership level;
(2) Sound understanding of the development sector and programmes;
(3) Good understanding of the market and its drivers for raising resources;
(4) Strong relationship management and negotiation skills;
(5) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organisation;
(6) Excellent staff management skills and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of employees;
(7) Willingness and ability to travel extensively.


5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation is budgeted at Rs. 25 lacs per annum with scope for substantial improvement as the organization scales up. Offers shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history. The successful candidate shall be offered a two-year contract.

6. LOCATION: NCR with domestic travel to meet donors, partners.
