2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE) is a policy advocacy and energy efficiency market enabler with a not-for-profit motive. AEEE advocates energy efficiency as a resource and collaborates with industry and government to transform the market for energy-efficient products and services, thereby contributing towards meeting India’s goals on energy security, clean energy, and climate change. 3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:


Reporting to Principal Research Associate, the Senior Research Associate/ Research Associate – Electric Mobility shall work with the Power Utility & Electric Mobility team to further enhance the organization’s research capabilities. AEEE’s research team closely tracks all developments in the power utility and electric mobility space and pursues research interventions in Smart Grid, Utility Demand Side Management (DSM), Grid Energy Storage, Electric Mobility and Power Sector policies and regulations, at large.

Key Job Responsibilities:
 

(1) Staying abreast of developments in India and globally, in the power distribution and electric vehicle space;

(2) Identifying potential strategy areas, developing proposals and undertaking meaningful research to support policymaking;

(3) Engaging in discussions on policy and regulations related to Smart Grid, Utility Demand Side Management (DSM), Grid Energy Storage, Electric Mobility and Power Sector, at large;

(4) Reviewing, analyzing and drafting policy, regulatory and scheme documents related to the power sector, that can advance energy efficiency as a “resource;”

(5) Writing project-reports, issue-briefs, journal-papers, articles, etc.;

(6) Building strong relationships with relevant stakeholders including policymakers, public agencies, businesses, subject-matter experts, funding agencies, academia, and like-minded organizations;

(7) Contributing to outreach activities, such as preparing discussion papers, brochures, writing online posts, and actively supporting the conduct of roundtables, workshops and other types of events;

(8) Participating in events, seminars, etc., related to the field of work;

(9) Mentoring research associates, analysts or interns;

(10) Participating actively in the overall development of the organization.

 

 

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualification

 

(1) Applicants must be graduates in Electrical Engineering, or similar engineering discipline. Graduates in Economics are also eligible;

(2) Applicants must additionally be post-graduates in energy or policy field (MSc. /MTech. / MBA, etc.) from reputed institutions in India or overseas;

(3) Applicants with a Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline, shall be at an advantage.

 

Experience

 

(1) At least three to eight years of quality professional experience in consulting, policy research, strategy development or planning in the power distribution sector, transport, energy storage and electric mobility. Candidates with less experience, but higher educational qualifications and an exceptional track-record, shall be considered;

(2) Prior experience in reviewing and analysing best practices in facilitating a regulatory framework in the power distribution sector, especially relating to DSM shall be an advantage.

 

Skills and Competencies

 

(1) Strong conceptual as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities;

(2) Flair for finding action-oriented solutions to real-life problems;

(3) Excellent oral and written communication skills;

(4) Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and slide presentation software;

(5) Strategic thinking outlook;

(6) Eye for detail;

(7) Working under tight timelines;

(8) Self-driven and motivated;

(9) Ability to work under minimum guidance;

(10) Good inter-personal skills and ability to work with team-members from diverse backgrounds;

(11) Keenness to travel when needed.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:


Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
