Specialist - Business Development, ChildFund India, Bangalore or New Delhi (One Vacancy)

 

1. POSITION(S) VACANT: Specialist - Business Development (SPC-BD), ChildFund India, Bangalore or New Delhi (One Vacancy)

 

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

ChildFund India is a partnership-based child development organization affiliated with ChildFund International, a global network of 12 international child development organizations, representing the voice of deprived, vulnerable, marginalized, and excluded children in India, regardless of race, creed, and gender.

ChildFund India has been transforming the lives of millions of children in India through child focused initiatives since 1951, helping improve the well-being of vulnerable children by empowering the community to undertake and manage holistic child development programs, and by networking with other stakeholders, as well.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director- Resource Mobilization, the Specialist - Business Development (SPC-BD) shall be responsible for maximizing income from strategic partnerships with corporates, foundations, institutions, and government agencies.

The post-holder shall work closely with thematic specialists and the Resource Mobilisation team to accomplish ambitious fundraising targets, in accordance with the Country Strategy Plan.

Key Job Responsibilities:

(1) Develop actionable plans for meeting fundraising targets by acquiring grant resources from corporates, institutions, and government agencies in alignment with the overall fundraising strategy and business plan;
(2) Work with key internal stakeholders and program teams to develop quality funding proposals;
(3) Research and identify prospects, develop relationships, and nurture networks to build and maintain a pipeline of prospects;
(4) Keep up-to-date and accurate records of all prospective donors on the internal portal, (e.g. Salesforce) for reporting, tracking, and evaluation purposes;
(5) Liaise with relevant government departments for positioning technical and financial collaborations;
(6) Build relationships with corporate networks, large foundations, and bi-lateral and multi-lateral agencies;
(7) Attend meetings and events to collaborate, network, and strengthen organizational relationships at the state/ cluster/ national levels;
(8) Demonstrate a willingness to take on a range of tasks and to develop new skills, as appropriate, to support the work of ChildFund in India;
(9) Any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time based on organizational requirements.


4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification

Applicants should preferably be post-graduates in Development Studies, Social Science,  Management, or related discipline.

Experience

(1) Minimum five years of experience in mobilizing resources through corporates, institutions, and govt. agencies;
(2) Sound understanding of developmental/ human rights/ child rights and protection programs;
(3) Knowledge of the external environment relevant to the development sector, including government bodies, donor institutions, forums, etc.;
(4) Track record of securing large grants and corporate commitments and of sustaining a portfolio of corporate relationships;
(5) Prior experience of working with the CSR and/ or events teams from large corporates.


Skills and Competencies

(1) Ability to multitask, work under pressure and deliver quality results;
(2) A high degree of commercial awareness to understand the needs of corporate supporters and present fundraising opportunities effectively. Possess tenacity for negotiating major, long-term commitments and contracts;
(3) Ability to work with individuals at the highest level, both externally and internally, including Board Members;
(4) A good self-starter and team player who demonstrates a willingness to share information and the ability to communicate positively and effectively with all stakeholders;
(5) Excellent presentation and negotiation skills;
(6) Knowledge and experience of working with MS Office and analytics applications;
(7) Gender sensitive with strong conviction and skills for the empowerment of excluded and disadvantaged children.


5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

CTC budgeted for the position is Rs. 11 lacs per annum. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.

6. LOCATION: Bangalore or New Delhi. (The selected candidate shall be expected to work from office and travel periodically, based on the needs of the job.)
