1. POSITION VACANT: Senior Programme Support Executive, Ahvaan Trust, New Delhi

 

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

The Ahvaan Trust (AT) is a not-for-profit organization working with State Governments in the areas of Curriculum Development, Professional Development of Educators, Master Trainers, Heads of School, as well as Parent Engagement within the Government School ecosystem.

AT was established in the year 2010 and focuses on the Foundational Years:  3+ to 8+. It works in the critical Foundational Years of Learning, developing age-appropriate skill-based curriculum, which integrates socio emotional learning and universal values. Additionally, it builds the capacity of teachers through training related to Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), coaching and mentoring, and parent engagement. Engaging with State Government institutions, AT supports the rejuvenation and reform of their institutional capacities to deliver the FLN mission, where every child learns. Currently working with the States of Delhi, Tripura, and Chhattisgarh the organization continues to explore meaningful engagement in other states.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Senior Program Support Executive (SPSE) shall in initial years, work as her understudy, to support diverse programming needs, straddling the formulation, approval, implementation, assurance, policy advocacy and documentation of programs.

The SPSE shall have cross-functional responsibilities and support the ED in internal and external meetings, helping with agenda setting, following-up on action points and handling communications. Formative experience gained in the ED’s Office shall give the post-holder an invaluable orientation to AT strategies and solutions to Foundational Learning and position her/him to assume an early leadership role within the organization.

The SPSE shall be an agile, thoughtful, and resilient early-career professional, driven by the opportunity to contribute to the impact AT seeks to make and long-term aspirations to be a leader in the social impact sector.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

A. Leadership Support:

(1) The primary goal is to help the leader, and thus, the organization be more effective;
(2) Coordination: between the ED, the board, the senior team and selected external stakeholders; integrating connecting work streams that would otherwise remain in siloes; linking the leadership team and the broader organization; maintain calendars, meetings, files of the ED and other team and stakeholders
(3) Communication: This role also includes but is not limited to preparing and reviewing material for internal and external priorities, maintaining operational rhythms – moving agendas forward and anticipating and working through risks, as well as drafting well-articulated communications, often under considerable time pressure.

 

B. Organizational Effectiveness:

(1) General Administration: Help incubate/ refine and run essential systems and processes for the organization and the ED. These range from contribution to leadership meetings, preparation of material for Board meetings as well as internal and external communications;
(2) Support Change Management: Support the fostering of the organizational culture and anticipate and implement opportunities for process improvements;
(3) HR Related: Follow up on hirings and recruitments with programme leaders and the ED; make induction plans and coordinate their effective implementation; maintain HR meetings with the ED and team members, personal files and travel and logistics of general and senior leadership team.

 

C. Strategic Initiatives:

Incubate and manage new, cross- functional initiatives and projects that emerge, working alongside the ED or a leadership team member.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification

Applicants must be graduates, or post-graduates in a relevant discipline. Strong academic achievement shall be an advantage.

Experience

(1) At least six years of experience with top tier management consultancies/ corporates/ start-ups/ not-for-profit organizations/ foundations/;
(2) Experience of supporting and managing projects from conception to implementation;
(3) Experience of working directly with senior leadership professionals;
(4) Exposure to private, public, and non-profit sectors.

Note: Outstanding applicants possessing less than six years shall also be considered and be eligible for appointment as Programme Support Executive.

 

Skills and Competencies

(1) Ability to work well under pressure;
(2) Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); English, Hindi and any other regional language (added advantage)
(3) Effective programme design and implementation skills;
(4) Structured problem-solving management of multiple agendas and working with ambiguity;
(5) Fluency in Microsoft Office and managing digital communication;
(6) Confident communicator and presenter;
(7) Alignment with AT’s purpose, approach, and values;
(8) Potential candidate should demonstrate characteristics such as agility, thoughtfulness, resilience, integrity etc.

 

6. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
