1. POSITION(S) VACANT:  Consultant – Graphic Design, Layout and Video Editing Services, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Delhi

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), formerly the United Nations Fund for Population Activities, is a UN organization working for reproductive rights for all and supports access to a wide range of sexual and reproductive health services including voluntary family planning, maternal health care and comprehensive sexuality education.

UNFPA’s 9th Country Programme Cycle (CPC) in India (2018 – 2022) focuses on empowering young people with critical life skills and invests in adolescent health and well-being; ensuring universal access to high-quality sexual and reproductive health and rights; addressing gender discrimination and harmful practices such as gender-biased sex selection and child marriage, and using population data to maximize the demographic dividend.

UNFPA regularly produces communication and advocacy materials in multiple formats to inform UNFPA partners, donors and the general public including UNFPA followers on social media, the impact of the work and the objectives UNFPA seeks to achieve.

Reporting to the Head of the Communication and Media unit, the Consultant – Graphic Design, Layout and Video Editing Services shall support in documentation and communications activities, including knowledge products in multiple formats and promotional collaterals, for use across diverse communication platforms. The Consultant shall be responsible for preparing a brief consultancy report outlining the activities undertaken to be submitted by the end of each month and a consolidated report of completed tasks to be submitted by the end of the contract period.

Key Deliverables:
(1) Creative design, layout and formatting for publications including reports, brochures, posters, pamphlets, calendars, notepads, diaries, folders, booklets and any other printed and web-based communications materials taking into account UNFPA branding guidelines, and branding requirements of other donors/partners, as needed, enhance country office documents such as designing of annual reports, factsheets, manuals, guidelines, donor reports, and research publications;
(2) Design, edit photographs and create illustrations, art-work, maps, tables, charts and other graphic elements for communication and promotional materials;
(3) Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and size or type;
(4) Develop infographics on a regular basis using data provided by UNFPA to present core messages and organize complex information into visual representations for social media advocacy purposes;
(5) Edit and produce high quality videos for social media and advocacy purposes; collate and edit footage from received from UNFPA priority states, and implementing partners.
(6) Knowledge and basic skills in animation are desirable;
(7) Support in documenting programme implementation in UNFPA India operation areas (Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha); edit and create videos such as explainer videos, short documentaries,
interviews etc. Ensure consent forms are duly filled and signed from stakeholders before documentation;
(7) Support communications outreach through the website, including content development and management;
(8) Report to and liaise closely with Communications and Media Unit on final design, layout and version for videos;
(9) Liaise with printers, if necessary;
(10) Deliver creative graphic and technical solutions (including infographics if required) for print, electronic, web-based and animated presentations;
(11) Any other design related task requested by Advocacy and Communications Unit.



(1) Graduate in Communications, graphic design or any other related qualifications including art and design.


(1) Applicant must have five years of proven experience in graphic designing and video editing from start to published/printed/on-air product with knowledge of printing/editing processes (offset and digital) and color management/video color correction;
(2) Working experience of the development sector will be preferred;

(3) Working with web platforms and content management is desirable;
(4) A detailed and labeled showreel of the candidate’s print and video work;
(5) Strong theoretical and practical background in graphic design, video editing including the use of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite – In-Design, Adobe Premier Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects etc;
(6) Knowledge of Corel Draw and other similar platforms is a plus;
(7) Candidates having an active Adobe subscription and professional license for any related designing software will be desirable;

(8) Candidates should have experience in graphic design along with proven skills in graphic layout and design, and in video creation and editing, visual messaging and informational graphics.


The Consultant – Graphic Design, Layout and Video Editing Services, shall be hired on Individual Consultancy Contract under UNFPA.

The selected candidate will be paid a fee of Rs. 75,000 per month + applicable GST (if any) and will commensurate with the experience/salary history of candidates. The Consultant will not be reimbursed for updating/renewing of her/his Adobe Creative Suite License.

New Delhi (Remote work from home with occasional visits to office a required by the supervisor)

8. DURATION: The selected candidate shall be issued an initial consultancy contract for a period of three months starting from June 1, 2021 to August 31, 2021, extendable if required and subject to satisfactory performance.
