1. POSITION(S) VACANT: Specialist, Business Development – Grants Management (SPC-BD-GM), ChildFund India, Bangalore, New Delhi, or Mumbai (One vacancy)

ChildFund India is a partnership-based child development organization affiliated with ChildFund International, a global network of 12 international child development organizations, representing the voice of deprived, vulnerable, marginalized, and excluded children in India, regardless of race, creed, and gender.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to Director – Resource Mobilization, the Specialist, Business Development – Grants Management (SBD-GM) will be responsible for tracking the implementation of grants projects, managing donor relations, periodic reporting and executing the resource mobilization strategy of ChildFund India.

The post-holder shall work closely with program and partnership teams, thematic specialists, and resource mobilization team for the management of active grants, retention of donors and maximizing grants funding as per the Country Strategic Plan of ChildFund India.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

(1) Responsible for developing and maintaining a dashboard for managing reporting requirements and timelines on a periodic (monthly/ quarterly) basis or as per the agreements with donor agencies.
(2) Track and report progress on approved budget vs expenses of all grant projects and coordinate with program implementation and finance teams to ensure delivery as per agreed plans.
(3) Responsible for coordination with the program and finance team to ensure timely submission of quality program and financial reports to donor agencies.
(4) Build capacity of program implementation managers and finance staff working at project locations on the grant budgeting, tracking and follow-up of implementation plan and cashflows.
(5) Carry out research to identify available grants opportunities and support in developing a strong pipeline of potential grants available under CSR, institutions, and other sources.
(6) Review draft agreements or Memorandum of Understanding at the pre-award stage and manage post-award related requirements.
(7) Responsible for keeping records of prospective and current donors on internal portal for reporting, tracking and evaluation purposes.
(8) Build relationships with corporate networks, large foundations, bi-lateral and multi-lateral agencies.
(9) Attend meetings and events to collaborate, network and to strengthen relationships with relevant stakeholders at the state/cluster/national level.
(10) Take up opportunities and tasks to develop new skills, as appropriate to support the work of ChildFund India.
(11) Any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time based on organizational requirements.


4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualification

Applicants should preferably be post-graduates in Development Studies, Social Science,  Management, or related discipline.

Experience

(1) Applicants should have at least five years of relevant experience of grant implementation/ management including sound understanding of developmental/ human rights/ child rights and protection programs.
(2) Excellent track record of securing/ managing large grants from corporate commitment and of sustaining a portfolio of corporate relationships.
(3) Experience with databases and data management will be an added advantage.
(4) Knowledge and experience of working with MS Office applications and analytics applications.


Skills and Competencies

(1) A high degree of commercial awareness to understand the needs of corporate supporters and present fundraising opportunities effectively and tenacity for negotiating major, long-term commitments and contracts.
(2) Ability to do multitask, work under pressure and deliver quality results.
(3) Ability to work with individuals at the highest level, both externally and internally, including board members.
(4) A good self-starter and team player who demonstrates willingness to share information and ability to communicate positively and effectively with all stakeholders.
(5) Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
(6) Be gender sensitive with strong conviction and skills for the empowerment of excluded and disadvantaged children.


5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
