3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:


Reporting to the Team Lead (Data Analytics & Modelling), the Senior Research Associate (SRA), shall be working on energy efficiency policy advisory, and market enablement founded on unbiased research and cutting-edge analytical approaches. The individual is expected to conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis and assessments through primary and secondary research. She/he would actively engage with stakeholders from the public sector, businesses, and civil society.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Drive insightful analysis on energy efficiency in the buildings sector;
(2) Analyze large amounts of data to support building sector modelling, power sector modelling, energy performance-based benchmarking, and demand flexibility forecasting and implementation;(3) Undertake data collection and analysis from diverse sources. Bringing in web-scraping and intelligent data-processing techniques must be integral to all data-driven work;
(4) Assess and customize well-known and established models for AEEE’s work in data analysis and modelling;
(5) Track international, national, and state-level policy & legislative developments and schemes about energy conservation and energy efficiency;
(6) Track key policies and schemes related to state climate action plans and sustainable development goals; identify potential opportunities to integrate energy efficiency in these policies and schemes;
(7) Liaise with stakeholders from the public sector, businesses, and civil society
(8) Conduct both primary and desktop/secondary research using diverse information sources;
(9) Write high-quality research pieces – papers, presentations, policy briefs, etc., and project reports;
(10) Ensure timely and quality project delivery; develop interactive tools, dashboards, consumer videos, podcasts, workshops/training/knowledge sessions, etc.;
(11) Support the team in developing core or multi-year technical/ research proposals to raise programmatic funding;
(12) Pursue continuous improvement in technical skills and domain expertise and work towards being recognized as a credible and trusted professional in your domain;
(13) Foster a culture of collaboration, support and transparency in the organization, support, and mentor the junior team;
(14) Perform other necessary tasks as they arise.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualification

(1) Applicants must be possessing a master’s degree with a specialization in buildings science, interdisciplinary urban design, sustainable energy, energy analytics or related field;

(2) Ph.D. degree in relevant discipline is preferred;

(3) A bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably electrical, mechanical, civil or energy engineering) or architecture.

 

Experience

(1) Five or more years of relevant work experience (experience working on energy efficiency in buildings preferred);

(2) Domain expertise in sustainable energy and preferably in, buildings sector energy efficiency, sustainable building operational practices, demand flexibility;

(3) Knowledge of green building certifications; building energy and carbon accreditation standards including ISO 14064, ISO 50001; and GHG accounting and reporting standards.

 

Skills and Competencies

(1) Good knowledge of modelling in the efficiency space and its role and impacts; some experience in modelling would be preferred;

(2) Demonstrated data analysis & visualization (Excel and Tableau), and modelling skills;

(3) Should have a strong research background, proven analytical research capabilities, and excellent written and verbal communication;

(4) Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision;

(5) Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas;

(6) Based in New Delhi or willing to move (preferred).

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
