1. POSITION(S) VACANT: Senior Software Developer (Programming – PHP) for Laboratory Information Management (LIMS), Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) India, New Delhi


The Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) is an international non-profit organization that contributes to the development and delivery of much-needed diagnostic tests for poverty-related diseases, including Tuberculosis, Malaria, Sleeping sickness, Hepatitis C, HIV, Leishmaniasis, Buruli ulcer and Chagas disease. In India, FIND is extensively involved in the area of Tuberculosis (TB) and assists the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) in TB surveillance along with setup of TB diagnostic laboratories and associated training on a pan-India level.

Presently, for diagnosis of patients who are suspected to have drug resistant TB, samples are referred to advanced Laboratory facilities available at district, regional or State levels. Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) was developed for digitization of laboratory data recording and reporting to referring facilities via Nikshay and is being implemented by various TB Culture and Drug Susceptibility Testing (C&DST) Laboratories under NTEP.

Under the new Global Fund (TGF) project spread over 3 years from 2021-24, FIND in consultation with NTEP aims to expand LIMS to various CBNAAT/GeneXpert and TrueNatTM facilities (currently >3000 facilities, more getting established) along with automated data capture from the machines.

FIND will strengthen LIMS to cover newer TB C&DST labs as well as from the perspective of sustainability and mainstreaming. Further, FIND will support in integration of various Laboratory related portals such as EQA portal and e-training with LIMS. FIND will also work towards promoting integration of other HMIS systems with NTEP’s Nikshay portal. Staff of various facilities will be trained to use various IT solutions provided to them under NTEP.


The Senior Software Developer (Programming – PHP) for Laboratory Information Management (LIMS) shall have the following responsibilities:

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) LIMS Software upgradation and maintenance;
(a) Upgrade Technical Documents (SRS, SDD etc);
(b) Upgrade and maintain LIMS Lab Module, Logistic Module, Direct Access Portal & Central Dashboard.

(2) Development, Testing, Implementation and Maintenance for connectivity solutions:
(a) Develop Technical design documentation/solution for NAAT connectivity;
(b) Develop source code for connectivity of CBNAAT machine with Nikshay;
(c) Develop source code for connectivity of TrueNat machine with Nikshay;
(d) Develop solution for HIMS connectivity with Nikshay. 

(3) Coordination with Stakeholders:
(a) Liaison with team in FIND, the Central TB Division & all other relevant stakeholders to understand requirements of software, desired functionality etc;
(b) Coordinate and manage the activities during integration with Nikshay;
(c) Coordinate with CTD/ GOI officials for obtaining NIC registration and STQC audit processes;
(d) Coordination with Vendor and Labs for maintenance of LIMS, Logistic Module and other modules functionalities and resolutions of issues rapidly. Support in FIND to build sustainability plan.

(4) Transition (Knowledge transfer) of LIMS and connectivity solution to CTD (including sharing of source coding, SDD, database, etc);
(5) Prepare documents and clearance of 3rd party audit with STQC audit of software;
(6) Provide onsite/offsite trainings and support in finalization of user manual and training material for end users;
(7) Any assignment, which may be given /assigned to him/her from time to time by supervisor.



Applicants must have MCA/ M.Tech. (Computer Science & IT)/ M.Sc. (Computer Science) with three years’ experience or B.Tech. (IT/CS), BCA, BSC (Computer Science) with four years of experience.

(1) Applicants must have experience in Information Systems, Software designing (XAMPP Technology, Web development using LAMP in PHP with MySQL, Laravel, Apache Web server), Database Management, HTML, Javascript/ JQuery and CS;

(2) Candidate who have developed project in Laravel technology will be preferred.
(2) Development of ETL & Web API for integration of software;
(3) Experience in managing, deploying, and hosting of applications in Cloud Server;
(4) Prior experience in managing health information systems development cycle shall be desirable.


Skills and Competencies
(1) Good oral and written communication skills which includes meeting minutes;
(2) Ability to work in plan manner, flexibility, set priority & can work independently (with minimum handholding and supervision) as well as strong team orientation;

(3) Willingness to travel as per project needs;
(4) Energetic, professional, mature, and confident;
(5) Good analytical, problem-solving approach, strong user-Intersection skill, and co-ordination skill.

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.

The selected candidate shall be initially offered full time fixed term employment contract for a period of one year. The position will be continued subject to satisfactory performance, project extension and fund availability.

7. LOCATION: New Delhi.

(Note: Considering the current situation, it will be office and work from home mixed approach. Travel may be required to various laboratories implementing LIMS (travels will be reviewed before approval based national/ state safety guidelines during this Covid pandemic).
