RAHI supports safety net programs that provide nourishment, as well as additional skills training or services, to support the difficult journey out of poverty. More than 2 million people have been provided food and nutrition support by RAHI, since its inception.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to Executive Director, the Program Manager – Food and Nutrition Security (PM-FNS) will anchor the food security program of RAHI by helping field teams in the design and project development process, especially on increasing Nutrition Sensitive Value Chain with a focus on household level micro-livelihood approach rather than big volume wide-catchment projects.

S/he will also design interventions with the primary objective of ensuring round-the-year access to quality food & nutrition through diverse livelihood options, to strengthen the household level food security portfolio with resilience/climate-coping skills following J-PAL’s graduation and Transformational Micro Livelihood approach. The position will also establish linkages and liaison with nutrition-related agencies & government departments to enhance program capacity on the ground.

Key Job Responsibilities:

(1) Coordinate and manage the livelihood and food security portfolio of RAHI with an exclusive focus on nutrition sensitive value chain (NSVC) enhancement;
(2) Design projects and develop implementation plans that improves HH level food security experience and ensure availability & access to diversity of nutritional food in the local community;

(3) Guide and train field staff on concepts such as graduation approach household livelihood & food basket, NSVC, micro-livelihood and assist in field level implementation of projects on these;
(4) Install a robust project planning and management framework and contribute thematic/ domain level expertise on livelihood and food security to build organization-wide information management process;
(5) Build a set of project concept notes, proposal pipelines based on data gathered from the communities where Rise Against Hunger India operates directly;
(6) Contribute to the annual planning and budgeting exercise giving projections for the year and be responsible for achieving the projected estimates;
(7) Track progress of each project and submit quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports to the management/Board on projects being implemented and funding solicited;
(8) Actively solicit potential funding opportunities and respond to RFPs/ CFPs;

(9) Provide regular inputs for digital channels – website, email and social media accounts – for supporter engagement and to raise resource;
(10) Bring domain expertise to support communications team with mailers, newsletters, publications, videos and other communications materials that are sent to donors, supporters and general public;
(11) Guide communication team on developing relevant content for website to make it fundraise oriented in line with organization’s branding guidelines.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification and Experience
 

(1) Post-graduate in relevant discipline with at least seven years of work experience, of which five years must have been on implementing and delivering projects relevant to this position having a project budget of at least USD 300,000;
(2) Conversant with current trends of food security, livelihoods, value-chain management;
(3) Strong project formulation and designing skills with demonstrated experience on proposal writing and presentation to external donors/ funders;
(4) Up-to-date knowledge of project planning & management tools, technology, software.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:


Gross compensation for the position ranges from Rs. 10 to 12 lacs per annum. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
