1. POSITION VACANT: Chief of Party, International Non-Profit Organization, Delhi/ NCR

2. ORGANISATION BACKGROUND:

Our client is a respected international non-profit, that works in public health across the globe, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Chief of Party (CoP) shall undertake the following key responsibilities:

Key Job Responsibilities: 

(1) Provide leadership and direction to a large, flagship, public health intervention, being implemented across the country;
(2) Ensure focus and close attention to program objectives, deliverables and milestones, in accordance with agreed log frame, plan and budget;
(3) Track and ensure adequacy of financial resources for prioritized areas of work, supporting the resource mobilization team of the organization, as necessary;
(4) Oversee the management of programmatic budgets, ensuring effective and compliant use of grants and donor funds;
(5) Provide expert public health inputs, mentorship and guidance to the program team;
(6) Ensure programmatic excellence and outcomes through the design and deployment of innovative design, as well as appropriate technology and tools;

(7) Collaborate with diverse strategic stakeholders viz. government, development and private sector partners, as well as CSR agencies, to enhance program impact and leverage resources;
(8) Represent the organization in conferences, workshops and seminars, at the national and international levels in the context of public advocacy and dissemination of program learnings, as necessary.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification:

Applicants must have a master’s degree in public health or relevant discipline aligned with the role. A medical degree is not essential.

Experience:

(1) Applicants must have 15-20 years of progressive professional experience in public health in the areas of family planning and sexual reproductive health, of which at least five years must be in leadership roles;
(2) Prior experience of leading large complex, national health projects, requiring close engagement with international donor institutions shall be preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Excellent written and verbal communication skills fluent in written and spoken English;
(3) Demonstrated success in grant writing and proposal development for public health programs;
(4) Strong focus on being strategic, problem-solving, and solution-focused;
(5) Strong budget management experience, detail-oriented;
(6) High level of knowledge and understanding, especially as it relates to program replication, connecting programs to funding, creatively generating other resources, and building strategic partnerships;
(7)
Excellent organizational skills.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive and in alignment with the remuneration paid by other INGOs to senior professionals leading large public health projects. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history..
