1. POSITION(S) VACANT: Programme Co-ordinator – Leadership Next Program for Kamonohashi Project (Japan) (Three Vacancies)
2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Kamonohashi Project (Kamo), a Japanese philanthropic organisation founded in 2002, aims at creating a world without human trafficking. It has been supporting organizations and projects in India since 2012 that aim to combat human trafficking and to strengthen access to justice by the survivors of human trafficking through systems strengthening approach. As an organization, Kamo facilitates breaking polarization in development debates through dialogue and deep listening. Kamo also strongly believes in leadership development in survivors and among organizational founders and second line leaders to strengthen the ecosystem of the civil society sector.
About Leadership Next Program
The Leadership Next is a programme that supports survivors of violence and exploitation to organise across states of India, and build their leadership to negotiate for their safety, protection, and empowerment. The grassroots program is designed and implemented by facilitating non-profits in India and supported by allied service providers to build a platform for policy engagement.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is an exciting and demanding role for a developmental professional who aspires to build expertise in leadership programmes with survivors of violence. Our Client is looking for young, enthusiastic professionals who have a sound conceptual understanding of rights-based approaches.
Reporting to Assistant Programme Manager, S/he will be responsible for programme monitoring and reporting on output and LFA, MIS management, coordination with project partners, survivors’ collectives - help them in monitoring their own activities; engaging with them directly at the field level, researchers, and technical consultants who are partners in the programme.
S/he will be supported by a team of Finance Manager, MIS consultant, HR Manager, and Communications Manager, and must be skilled in managing clear and precise communications with internal and external stakeholders.
S/he will be required to travel within India, as per requirement, and must be skilled in using technology thoroughly and creatively to meet communication demands.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Partnership Co-ordination
(1) Building relationships of trust, transparency and mutuality with survivors’ collectives and their leaders;
(2) Build supportive relationships with grassroots NGOs who are partners in the programme;
(3) Build collaborative relationships with other officers of the programme in Kamo and colleagues of other programmes in Kamonohashi Project;
(4) Build robust partnerships with technical partners and consultants of the project.
(5) Co-ordinate among the survivor collectives (SCs) and mentoring NGOs (MOs) for programme monitoring by APM as well as for facilitating SCs and MOs for movement building
Project Management
(1) Support survivors’ collectives to develop project documents and tools, for them to monitor and report on their projects effectively;
(2) Support partner organisations (NGOs) to develop project documents and tools for effective role-taking, particularly focusing on planning, monitoring, and reporting;
(3) Review and clarify reports from survivors’ collectives and partner organisations to build consolidated programme reports for Kamonohashi and co-financiers of the programme;
(4) Monitor projects (including field level monitoring) of all SCs and MOs to check outcome and support Assistant Programme Manager in programme monitoring;
(5) Document good practices and create knowledge projects and share with the consortium;
(6) Collaborate with finance managers of the programme to check efficiency of approaches and strategies and use it for feedback to partner organisations;
(7) Ensure alignment between the programme and the communication portfolio.
Manage short-term consultancy projects
(1) Assist APM on programme evaluations, research, IEC developments, etc. on needs basis and ensure necessary support to facilitate action.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification and Experience:
(1) Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree with 2-5 years working experience in Rights-Based Programmes or Youth Leadership Programme
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Understanding of Result-Based-Management approach program monitoring, and reporting;
(2) knowledge of LFAs and project budget management;
(3) Preferably have an understanding of a consortium;
(4) Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision;
(5)Must have basic research (qualitative, quantitative techniques in research), and interviewing skills;
(6) Earlier Experience of working for youth leadership programme would be an asset;
(7) Experience in managing databases and information systems;
(8) Listening skills, ability to work with differences of opinion, perspectives, and ideologies;
(9) Ability to identify problems, propose solutions and take immediate corrective measures;
(10) Must have analytical, negotiating, and communication skills;
(11) Language proficiency required for:
(a) Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand: Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English and Hindi;
(b) West Bengal: Fluent in English, Bengali and Hindi;
(c) Andhra Pradesh: Fluent in English, Telugu and Hindi
5. Reporting Manager:
(a) This position reports to the Assistant Programme Manager, LN Programme;
(b) Overall program guidance shall be provided by Director – India Programme Division
6. NATURE OF ENGAGEMENT:
The selected candidate shall be appointed as Full time Consultant for fixed term assignment with Strategic Alliance Management Services Pvt. Ltd. (SAMS). The initial contract shall be for a period of one year (including initial 6 months of probation period), renewable based on approval from Kamonohashi and candidate’s performance.
7. REMUNERATION: Gross compensation for this position could be between 40,000/- to Rs. 50,000/- per month subject to withholding Taxes, as applicable.
