2. ORGANISATION BACKGROUND:

Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), set up on April 2, 1990 under an Act of Indian Parliament, acts as the Principal Financial Institution for the Promotion, Financing and Development of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector and for co-ordination of the functions of the institutions engaged in similar activities.

With adoption of vision 2.0, SIDBI has reoriented its focus on Promotion and Development with thrust on micro and small enterprises (MSEs), particularly the unserved / underserved pockets / segments and entrepreneurship development. It is a strategic initiative by SIDBI aimed at accelerating effort to serve MSME domain by transforming its current role to that of an All India Financial Institution that can create an integrated credit and development support ecosystem for Indian MSEs, thus promoting their inclusive growth. The initiative is dedicated to meet both, credit and non-credit needs of MSEs, enabling them to be globally competitive.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

SIDBI is looking for an outstanding development professional, to join their team at New Delhi as Theme Leader – Gender & Financial Literacy (ThL-G&FL) under SRF,PDI. The post-holder shall provide strategic oversight on gender related program design and delivery and ensure these meet the gender equality goals of the organization and work in close-coordination with Mission Swavalamban of SIDBI.


The consultant/ official shall undertake the following responsibilities:

Key Job Responsibilities: 

(1) Provide strategic oversight on gender related program design and delivery, ensuring this meets the organization’s gender equality goals;
(2) Provide leadership and decision-making inputs on gender equality;
(3) Identify gender equality gaps in program plans, design and implementation, initiating appropriate steps to address these;

(4) Work in close coordination with SIDBI’s Mission Swavalamban;
(5) Support and capacitate SIDBI on integrating/ incorporating gender equality in different work areas/ deliverables;
(6) Represent SIDBI in various fora/ events and brief the management team on outcomes;
(7) Manage and promote gender sensitive policies, operations and implementation, contracting with appropriate agencies/ individuals as necessary; Oversee design, assure quality and undertake mainstreaming initiatives;

(8) Manage the Women’s Empowerment and Financial Literacy training program;
(9) Initiate discussions on gender and financial inclusion and disseminate learnings within and outside the Bank;
(10) Build/ maintain strong working relationships with all concerned stakeholders;
(11) Process and help settle related bills of concerned agencies;
(12) Prepare requisite reports viz. Impact Reports, etc.;
(13) Any other work, as assigned by SIDBI;
(14) SIDBI reserves the right to relocate the official/ consultant to any other place of work, at its discretion.


4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification:

Applicants must have Master’s degree in Economics/ Business Management/ Social Sciences, from a recognized university/ institution.

Experience:

(1) Minimum five years of relevant experience;
(2) Prior experience of working with national/ international organizations/ development projects, shall be preferred;
(3)
Familiarity through working with Development Finance Institutions, World Bank/ other Institutions, National/ State Rural Livelihood Missions, MFIs, etc.


Skills and Competencies:
(1) Excellent command over English and Hindi language; Ability to write effectively for various audiences under pressure and tight deadlines, in a rapidly changing organizational environment with attention to detail;
(2) Strong project management and organizational skills. Capacity to follow-up systematically and efficiently on a broad set of initiatives and decisions. Self-starter with a strong drive for results and the ability to work independently and diligently, while prioritizing and meeting deadlines;
(3) Analytical skills in gender issues and ability to provide well-grounded, quality analytical inputs with pragmatism and a focus on results;
(4) Strong research skills, with the ability to gather and analyze material and present findings in a concise manner;
(5) Ability to learn quickly, synthesize technical material and distil information in a user-friendly manner for multiple audiences. Creativity, with the ability to visualize and distil data;
(6) Ability to develop effective working relationships with counterparts, both inside and outside SIDBI, including governments, civil society organizations, academia and the private sector;
(7) Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members, contributing productively to the team’s work and output; Demonstrate respect for different points of view;
(8) Strong personal commitment to gender equality.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

The compensation (on CTC basis) shall be commensurate with industry standards. A higher compensation would be considered for competent and experienced candidate based on their suitability/ experience.

7. AGE LIMIT: Applicant shall not be more than 40 years as on March 01, 2023.

8. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: The term of the contract of Theme Leader – Gender & Financial Literacy would initially be for a period of two years. However, need-based renewal/ extension of the contract may be considered by SIDBI subject to periodic review of performance.

 

9. GENERAL INFORMATION:
(1) Candidates are advised that they should not furnish any particulars or information that are false, tampered / fabricated or should not suppress any material information while applying online. (2) Selection would be by way of written test/ personal interview to be held online/ offline before the Selection Committee. The Bank will undertake a preliminary screening of the applications for preparing, if necessary, a shortlist of eligible candidates to be called for written test/interview. Thus, merely fulfilling the requirements laid down in the advertisement would not automatically entitle any candidate to be called for interview. The date of interview will be advised to the shortlisted candidates in due course;
(3) Candidates selected for the position has to produce all certificates in original for verification of their age, educational qualification, category, experience details, etc. at the time of joining or as and when desired by SIDBI. Failure to produce the same shall render the candidate ineligible for the recruitment process;
(4) SIDBI reserves right to fill / not to fill the above positions at any stage of the process;
(5) Decision taken by the committee in connection with the selection process will be final and binding.
