2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Kamonohashi Project (Kamo), a Japanese philanthropic organisation founded in 2002, aims at creating a world without human trafficking. It has been supporting organizations and projects in India since 2012 that aim to combat human trafficking and to strengthen access to justice by the survivors of human trafficking through systems strengthening approach. As an organization, Kamo facilitates breaking polarization in development debates through dialogue and deep listening. Kamo also strongly believes in leadership development in survivors and among organizational founders and second line leaders to strengthen the ecosystem of the civil society sector.
About Leadership Next Program
The Leadership Next is a programme that supports survivors of violence and exploitation to organise across states of India, and build their leadership to negotiate for their safety, protection, and empowerment. The grassroots program is designed and implemented by facilitating non-profits in India and supported by allied service providers to build a platform for policy engagement.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to Kamonohashi India Program Director, LN Programme and overall program guidance shall be provided by Director – India Programme Division. S/he will be responsible for programme planning, proposal writing for fundraising, monitoring, and reporting on output and outcome, MIS management, coordination with project partners, survivors’ collectives, researchers, and technical consultants who are partners in the programme. S/he will be supported by a team of Finance Manager, MIS officer, HR Manager, and Communications Manager, and must be skilled in managing clear and precise communications with internal and external stakeholders.
S/he will be required to travel within India, as per requirement, and must be skilled in using technology thoroughly and creatively to meet communication demands.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Supervise multiple programme coordinators under the supervision by the India Programme Director (IPD);
(2) Consolidate the output data from multiple sub projects under the programme and report to the consortium members as well as Programme Directors and IPD on a monthly basis;
(3) Manage the outcome monitoring on the quarterly basis;
(4) Reporting and coordination with financers of the programme;
(5) Expanding the programme through networking with financers and proposal development;
(6) Assess partners proposal and support them in collaboration with Programme Coordinators to finalize it in alignment with programme overall goal;
(7) Monitor Kamo’s plan of action on a monthly basis;
(8) Develop Kamo’s plan of action under the Leadership Next on annual basis;
(9) Anchor the LN review and planning meetings as and when necessary for effective programme management;
(10) Commission researches, as and when necessary, and manage the vendor/consultant for the assignments;
(11) Collaborate with finance manager of the programme to check programme and budget synergy and share feedback if any to mentoring organisations and survivors collectives;
(12) Support communication manager to develop the communication collaterals based on the researches and outcome assessment conducted within the programme as well as to contribute to the branding of the programme through article writing;
(13) Undertake any other task assigned by the Supervisor/ Line Manager, based on organizational requirement.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification and Experience
(1) Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree with 8-12 years of working experience in Rights-Based Programmes or Youth Leadership Programme;
(2) Candidates from premium social science institutes with little less experience may also be considered;
Skills and Competencies
(1) Understanding and experience of programme management, outcome monitoring, financer management;
(2) Experience of supervising and managing team of diverse people over different geographic locations
(3) Experience in youth leadership programme;
(4) Understanding of ToC, Logic Tree, psychosocial programme;
(5) Expertise in proposal drafting and proposal analysis;
(6) Must have robust understanding and experience in working with a consortium;
(7) Skill in deep listening, observation, articulation, building and nurturing the team;
(8) Ability to reflect, learn new things and ways and unlearn the pattern of the self, critically think and analyze;
(9) Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision;
(10) Must have basic research (qualitative, quantitative techniques in research), facilitation and interviewing skills;
(11) Ability to identify problems, propose solutions and take immediate corrective measures;
(12) Must have analytical, negotiating, communication skills;
(13) Knowledge of English and Hindi(written and oral) is a MUST. Knowledge of Bengali or Telegu would be preferred;
(14) Must be open to travel extensively within India.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for this position, at the time of joining, would be in the range of Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 80,000/- per month subject to withholding Taxes, as applicable.
