1. POSITION VACANT: Consultant Research Coordination, International Development Agency, New Delhi

 

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
 

An International Development Consulting Firm (hereafter mentioned as The Company) which aims to help low- and middle-income countries achieve growth and reduce poverty and disadvantage through public policy reform. The Company works with donor organisations governments, bilateral and multilateral development partners, and NGOs focusing on areas such as economic development, health, education, climate change and social welfare, with a strong focus on research. In order to provide research coordination support to development partner funded health, human resources in health and social security project, the Consultant will be hired to support the activity. The Consultant will be useful in supporting activities for improving of project performance, coordinating research activity, dissemination of findings, sharing of lessons learned and also suggesting the way forward.
 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Consultant Research Coordination shall be responsible for the following:

Key Job Responsibilities:
 

(1) Act as the nodal coordinator between the development partner and The Company to honour terms of the MoU;

(2) Work closely with both organisations to develop Research Strategy for the Partnership;

(3) Create opportunities for research projects between the researchers at the both organisations;

(4) Support projects with research strategies and administrative assistance;

(5) Work proactively with funder and The Company to identify opportunities for capturing and sharing knowledge and disseminating information about major progress and results.

(6) Coordinate between the two organisations for research opportunities, workshops and transfer of knowledge etc;

(7) Ensure smooth functioning of the research joint initiatives at both the organisations;

(8) Establish and maintain relationships with the consultants and project implementation partners for the delivery of set objective; and

(9) Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to ensure adherence to the terms of the MoU.

(10) Looking after legal aspects of engagement and provide legal opinion on matters related to terms of MoUs, collaboration agreements etc.
 

Specific Tasks:

(1) Development of research Strategy for the Project.

(2) Supporting Project with of communication strategies and tools.

(3) Work proactively with funding body and The Company Team to identify opportunities for capturing and sharing knowledge, and disseminating information about major progress and results

(4) Documentation of projects process, impact learnings, trainings  etc.

(5) Development of materials in form of brochures, reading materials and monographs, research summaries on health and social security

(6) Support production of audio visual, presentations, documentary and other print material that may be required from research activity.

(7) Documentation of success stories/experiences.

(8) Content and design of posters, brochures, pamphlets and other print material

(9) Ensure that all research outcome material to be targeted to different stakeholders is written in a manner that is robust yet easy to understand for general public.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualification

 

Applicants must have a minimum of advanced Degree in fields related to management, social sciences, law, healthcare or other allied fields. Preference will be given to candidates with Masters’ in Business Administration (MBA) with specialisation in research, Human Resource Management, Marketing, corporate law etc.

Experience:

(1) Applicants must have a minimum five years of professional experience in relevant fields;

(2) Candidates with post-qualification work experience in research management, HR management, finance of a large government public relations department, private organization, foundation, public policy or advocacy group, NGO etc will be given preference;

(3) Knowledge of relevant softwares and applications;

(4) Working knowledge of the standard research frameworks, guidelines, regulations and techniques;

(5) Ability to work with different stakeholders across nationalities;

(6) Knowledge of research collaborations and a knack for managing and working with researchers and stakeholders from different domains.

Skills and Competencies

(1) Efficiency in analytical, inter-personal skills and management;

(2) Ability and willingness to travel to the project areas as and when needed;

(3) Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Hindi;

(4) Proven skills in the development of collaboration strategies, research management, liaising, and programme implementation;

(5) Ability to think creatively and intuitively;

(6) Excellent computer proficiency and knowledge of commonly used software packages like MS Word, Excel, Power Point etc;

(7) Ability to communicate with people outside the organization, representing the organization to, the public, government, and other external sources;

(8) Ability to create new ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including creative contributions;

(9) Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications,
experience, and salary history.

6. CONTRACT TYPE AND PERIOD:

The post-holder shall be engaged on a consultancy contract, till September 30, 2023, extendable thereafter, on the basis of performance.
