2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

The Ahvaan Trust (AT) is a not-for-profit organization working with State Governments in the areas of Curriculum Development, Professional Development of Educators, Master Trainers, Heads of Schools, as well as Parent Engagement within the Government School ecosystem.

Established in the year 2010, AT focuses on the Foundational Years:  3+ to 8+. It works in the critical Foundational Years of Learning, developing an age-appropriate skill-based curriculum, which integrates socio-emotional learning and universal values. It additionally, builds the capacity of teachers through training related to Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), through the development of progressive teaching-learning materials, educator development, mentoring, as well as forging teacher-parent engagement.

Engaging with State Government institutions, AT supports the rejuvenation and reform of their institutional capacities to deliver the FLN mission, where every child learns. It currently works with the states of Delhi, Tripura, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh, impacting 14,000 teachers and 400,000 children.

AT adopts an ecosystems approach to provide ECCE-integrated FLN to children aged 3 to 8 years. It continuously embeds critical perspectives to enrich its teaching and learning products and services in the foundational learning system, so that every child is supported by an empowered and nurturing community, to traverse an increasingly diverse world.

AT is supported by corporate CSR funding entities, apart from individual donors and its Founder Trustees. With the advent of multilateral institutional funding for FLN in India, the organization is also seeking to participate in fee-based consulting assignments from state governments.|

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

AT is looking for a hands-on, goal-oriented, and high-energy professional, to build its Fundraising and Partnerships vertical from scratch. The post-holder shall be responsible for developing and implementing successful strategies for fundraising, diversifying the donor portfolio, and strengthening the existing donor pipeline, by securing their continued financial support, as well as building durable relationships with them.

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Develop and implement a successful and sustainable fundraising strategy and roadmap to support AT’s programs;
(2) Develop a national and international network of diverse supporters strengthening the existing network and adding new champions and donors, committed to multi-year partnerships;
(3) Ensure engaged donor relationships through strong reporting and communication updates about AT’s work and its impact;
(4) Ideate and prepare all development-related proposals for grant-making and consulting services;
(5) Lead the creation and dissemination of external communications linked to advocacy and the development of donors and partners;
(6) Assist advocacy efforts, including presentations to existing and potential partners both national and international;
(7) Effectively manage communications and social media outreach, highlighting AT’s programs.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualification

Master’s degree in Business, Social Sciences, or other related fields.

Experience
(1) 7-10 years of experience of having worked in a direct fundraising and partnership management role, with at least three years in a leadership position;
(2) Demonstrated experience of successfully fundraising at least Rs. 5 crores annually for social cause from bilateral and multilateral organizations, institutional donors, foundations, corporate CSR entities, and high net-worth individuals; 

(3) Proven track record of building, developing, and managing, key stakeholder, client, and donor relationships.

(3) Highly organized with excellent project management skills;

(5) Collaborative skills of a high order, along with the ability to adapt to the needs of a highly cross-functional and matrixed work environment;
(6) Strong personal integrity and alignment with organizational goals, as well as commitments made to donors;
(7) Alignment with AT’s vision and mission of strengthening public education systems, by building the agency of teachers and leaders in the wider educational ecosystem;
(8) Strong sense of ownership and the ability and capacity to focus on driving results;
(9) Agile, well-planned, open to change, and lends a listening ear.


5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive and ranges from Rs. 15 to 20 lacs per annum. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
