Rise Against Hunger India (RAHI), is a registered public trust, driven by the vision of a world without hunger. The mission of the organization is to nourish lives, empower communities, respond to emergencies, and grow the movement for ending hunger. 

Headquartered in Bangalore and with Regional Offices in Mumbai and Delhi, RAHI works in some of the most remote, hard-to-reach locations in Odisha and Jharkhand, through Cluster Offices that work with communities. 

RAHI supports safety net programs that provide nourishment, as well as additional skills training or services, to support the difficult journey out of poverty. More than 2 million people have been provided food and nutrition support by RAHI since its inception.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director Operations, The Social Media Executive (SME) shall be responsible for maintaining and updating the official social media pages of RAHI.

This is a great opportunity for anyone with a flair for storytelling, writing and creating captivating content to explore the diverse cultural and geographic uniqueness of the program locations where the organization is running its program.

The role also involves regular monitoring of user engagement, analyzing feedback, and acting on queries and concerns.

Key Job Responsibilities:

(1) Manage day-to-day handling of all social media platforms and be able to adapt the content to suit different channels and audiences;
(2) Ensure that all communication messages and branding materials developed are consistent with the organization’s policy and philosophy;
(3) Responsible for website management including continuous update of information;
(4) Create content and written work that is catchy, gripping and captivating to the audience;
(5) Develop content (stories, pictures, graphics, videos and other multi-media formats) suitable for posting on different platforms and channels;
(6) Edit content shared by the field teams for social media posts and for dissemination through other channels;
(7) Organize social media timelines for scheduling posts to avoid disruptions and gaps;
(8) Prepare in advance to gather info and design content and graphics for social media posts on special occasions, events;
(9) Monitor the user’s feedback and engagement on every post, as well as prepare social media engagement and activities report;
(10) Respond to social media comments and questions on time, act immediately on matters that need response from the organization;
(11) Launch and lead paid social media campaigns to create brand awareness and to gain audience attention whenever required;
(12) Maintain databases, gather visitor data and determine areas for improvement;
(13) Create content for regular updates for different channels including website, print collaterals (brochures, ads, etc.), and emailers;
(14) Submit regular social media engagement and activities reports to the management with suggestions and recommendations for improvements.


4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
 

Qualification and Experience

(1) Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree/ post-graduate diploma in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing.;
(2) Minimum two years of experience in social media;
(3) Experience of Graphics Editing tools such as Vector, Adobe Lightroom, VN Video Editor, Adobe Photoshop, iMovie, Apple Clips, other video editing tools/apps


Essential Skills and Competencies

(1) Ability to write catchy content
(2) Must have clear, concise and compelling copywriting and editing/ proofreading skills
(3) Must have experience with mobile photography and videography;
(4) Display of evidence of regular social media interactions either on official or personal handles with familiarity of engagement metrics on different platforms;
(5) Sound knowledge of social media scheduling platforms such as TweetDeck, Hootsuite, Buffer, and others;
(6) Excellent knowledge of research requirements for social media strategy;
(7) Willingness to travel to the field locations to capture pictures, videos and collect stories;
(8) Outstanding proofreading and editing skills;
(9) Strong written and oral communication skills in English;
(10) Ability to work for long periods of time as and when required;|
(11) Strong organizational and time management skills;
(12) A keen eye for details;
(13) Multi-tasker and results driven;
(14) Ability to cope with pressing demands

 


5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

The consolidated remuneration for the position ranges between Rs. 8 to 10 lacs per annum and will be commensurate with the qualification and experience of the candidate.
