2. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

STCI is looking for a hands-on, goal-oriented, and high-energy professional to drive the Individual Giving (IG) function, with emphasis on implementing strategies and plans, to ensure continuing momentum to the organization’s programming growth plans. This is an exciting opportunity for accomplished sales and marketing professionals with demonstrated experience of accomplishing ambitious revenue targets, to transition to social cause, and apply their expertise to impact countless lives in need.

The experience of sales and marketing professionals driving retail sales in the BFSI, Advertising, and E-commerce domains, is expected to be especially relevant to the role. This is an inflection point of time to join the social sector which is witnessing the adoption of new funding platforms and instruments, including the social stock exchange, social impact bonds and blended finance.

Reporting to the Director Resource Mobilization, the Deputy Director Individual Giving (DDIG) shall be responsible for growing restricted and unrestricted funding from individuals, positioning STCI as the partner of choice to make beneficial changes to the lives of the most marginalized children in the country.

The DDIG shall be part of the Resource Mobilization department and work towards achieving the organization’s goals by mobilizing voluntary contributions from individuals adopting different strategies including direct acquisition, TV ads, digital and social media promotions, and retention. The DDIG shall develop new and innovative program strategies, setting up new processes and procedures to manage an expanded direct marketing program. S/he shall also be responsible for maintaining strong donor relationships.

The post-holder shall drive the IG program, ensuring the accomplishment of budgeted income, costs and increased net margins, in alignment with STCIs fundraising objectives and strategies.

Key Job Responsibilities:

(1) Accountable for leading the IG program with the authority to take decisions that:

(a) Determine the means to achieve organizational objectives;
(b) Develop or modify strategic plans for the individual giving program;
(c) Influence work activities and other key stakeholders including senior management, through the provision of specialist knowledge and advice;

(2) Accountable for budget, revenues and/or expenditures for the IG program;
(3) Develop and oversee implementation of the annual IG plan, direct marketing strategy, planning and analysis; Develop and implement the One Time and Regular Giving strategy to drive revenue growth;
(4) Oversee income and expenditure budgets and forecasts for all IG programs;
(5) Oversee all functions of IG such as donor journey, acquisition, digital, DRTV, and retention;
(6) Direct and oversee external agencies and suppliers to execute the IG strategy to meet agreed budgets and timelines;
(7) Develop and maintain processes and procedures to ensure internal capability is efficient, meeting best practices and continuously improving to meet changing conditions;
(8) Capitalise on all of STCI’s touch points, making effective and efficient use of all mediums;
(9) Keep abreast of competitor activity (in and out of the charity sector), new trends, tactics and channels being adopted within the industry;
(10) Disseminate new learnings and information throughout the team;
(11) Support the vision and values of STCI in all circumstances.


3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification

Applicants must have a post-graduate degree in business management with a specialization in sales and marketing.

Experience
(1) 12-15 years of tertiary experience, preferably in a relevant discipline such as business, marketing or communications, of which eight should be in leadership/ management roles;
(2)
Demonstrated experience of revenue generation/ annual fundraising of Rs. 50-70 crores (approx.),
through direct acquisition;
(3) Experience in developing direct marketing strategies and plans.


Skills and Knowledge
(1) Proven ability to set and meet business goals including demonstrated results in donor/ customer acquisition and retention;
(2) Demonstrated skills in relationship building both with internal and external stakeholders, business management (including budget setting and tracking) and strategic thinking and execution;
(3) Independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills;
(4) Comfortable and confident using technology as an integral part of the sales process, with particular experience in using Salesforce;
(5) Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to keep multiple projects and client engagements active at once;
(6) Self-motivated, mentally strong leader with the ability to inspire team members and promote work cohesion.
