Reach to Teach (RTT) is an education charity that works with governments and other like-minded organizations, to improve the quality of primary education. RTT exists to transform the lives of children in remote and marginalized communities in India, by focusing on transforming classroom teaching practices and teacher-to-child engagement.

Founded in 2003, RTT has grown into an established charity improving the learning outcomes of children in the state of Gujarat and believes that the most important factor in improving children’s learning, is the quality of teaching. RTT’s technical team has helped successfully deploy international best practices in education, at rural schools in Gujarat and is committed to ensuring that the same is extended and adopted by all schools, state-wide. 

RTT is working in coalition with other organizations, to support the Government of Gujarat’s ongoing efforts to deliver systemic change to ensure better foundational literacy and numeracy outcomes.

Under the guidance of the HR Business Partner, the Recruitment Manager will be working across teams, programmes and departments to manage and support the recruitment of key personnel. This will involve clarifying job responsibilities, coordinating with vendors in getting the job published, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, managing stakeholder relationships, creating and circulating reports and interacting with candidates. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities: 

(A) Recruitment

(1) Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders (both internal and external) to build the staffing strategy, including determining the number of people required, skills and experience of people to be hired and salaries to be paid;
(2) Support the entire recruitment process from obtaining approval of new positions, setting up interview panels, circulating question banks, collating feedback, scheduling interviews, providing guidance to hiring managers and supporting in learning and induction plans;
(3) Build a deep understanding of the programs, prioritizing the most important competencies needed for the role and advising programme leads to risks and trade-offs associated with different candidates;
(4) Be responsible for the creation of a recruitment policy and recruitment guidelines and ensure that the recruitment processes, protocols and timelines are met by all stakeholders;
(5) Ensure job descriptions and person specifications are written consistently and meet the needs of the organization;
(6) Manage recruitment vendor relationships, translating requirements and helping them to create a robust pipeline of resources for RTT;
(7) Assist programme heads in the initial screening of candidates and schedule panel interviews as required, supporting the panel with their interview strategy, provision of feedback and use of data to inform decisions;
(8) Ensure overall recruitment key performance indicators are being tracked and reported to the senior management team;
(9) Maintain recruitment data such as status reports, candidate feedback, timelines and send recruitment dashboards on a timely basis;
(10) Build and maintain candidate relationships, keeping them informed as their recruitment progresses;
(11) Manage assessment centre activities including identifying appropriate assessments for the role requirements, arranging logistics and ensuring understanding and application of the outputs, feeding these into individual learning plans;
(12) Support induction of new employees as needed.

(B) Communication and Stakeholder Management

(1) Build and maintain relationships with the key stakeholders within RTT IndiaRTT London, HR team and vendor partners;
(2) Regularly update stakeholders of progress and changes on performance milestones and issues.

(C) Miscellaneous

Be familiar with and act always by RTT’s values, policies, procedures, standing orders and financial regulations ensuring that staff is also aware of their obligations to follow them.



(1) Applicants must be MBA and/or Post Graduate Diploma/ Degree in HR/ Personnel/ Management/ Social Sciences, from a reputed institution.;
(2) Candidates with a Bachelors’ degree, accompanied by relevant experience, shall also be considered.


(1) Minimum five years of experience in end to end recruitment in a multi-stakeholder environment;
(2) Strong experience in talent mapping, networking, and hiring for not for profit sectors, will be desirable.

(14) Able to articulate and communicate well to all stakeholders (both verbally and in writing);
(15) Fluent in English & Hindi – written and verbal – essential;
(16) Conversational Gujarati desirable.


Gross compensation for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.

7. APPOINTMENT: This is a contractual position for a period of six months
